Story
After a combat incident in Iraq, Cal "Spectre" Martin was grounded and told he would never fly an F-16 again. Years later, he started a new civilian life with his F-16 pilot fiancée while being haunted by the nightmares of his last deployment. But when she goes missing on a routine training mission off the South Florida coast, Spectre unwillingly finds himself thrust back onto the frontlines of the war on terror - this time, not in the skies over Iraq, but on the streets of Miami.

Story
For a moment Wilson froze and looked at the white-helmeted pilot who sat high on the nose of the colossal fighter. Across the small void, he saw the pilot's eyes peer over his mask. Dark, chilling eyes. Wilson kicked right rudder to slide closer and jam any chance for a bandit gunshot. When the bandit pulled all the way over, almost on its back but in control, he cursed in frustration at what he knew was coming next.

Story
Sure to rank as one of the greatest aviation memoirs ever written, Viper Pilot is an Air Force legend's thrilling eyewitness account of modern air warfare. From 1986 to 2006, Lt. Col. Dan Hampton was a leading member of the Wild Weasels, the elite Air Force fighter squadrons whose mission is recognized as the most dangerous job in modern air combat. Weasels are the first planes sent into a war zone, flying deep behind enemy lines purposely seeking to draw fire from surface-to-air missiles and artillery. They must skillfully evade being shot down - and then return to destroy the threats, thereby making the skies safe for everyone else to follow.

From June 1967 to June 1968, Tom Johnson accumulated an astonishing 1,600 flying hours piloting the UH-1 "Iroquois" - better known as the "Huey" - as part of the famous First Air Cavalry Division. His battalion was one of the most decorated units of the Vietnam War, and helped redefine modern warfare. Johnson's riveting memoir takes us into key battles and rescue missions, including those for Hue and Khe Sanh. In harrowing detail, he tells of being shot down in the battle of A Shau Valley, of surviving enemy attacks during the Tet Offensive, and of a death-defying nighttime river rescue.

Summary
On the first day of school in a New Orleans suburb, terrorists hijack a school bus full of children. Corporal Alex Shepherd, decorated sheriff’s deputy and SWAT sniper, is critically injured trying to stop the attack and save his wife and daughter.
Waking from a month-long coma, Shepherd finds his girls are gone and the world has moved on. With no arrests made, his frustration at the system’s failures forces him to take matters into his own hands.
His thirst for vengeance takes him from New Orleans to the brutal battlefields of Syria, where he gains fame as a ruthless sniper. ISIS targets him, wanting his death to be a gruesome propaganda display. But as the bodies stack up, Shepherd learns there’s no compromise in the war against evil.
With nothing left to lose, he must confront the people responsible for the murder of his wife and daughter...or die trying.

“Mover” Lemoine is really finding his stride
I listened to his first two books in the Spectre series, whilst they were ok the narrator ruined the experience, here the author has taken a darker turn and changed narration, all in all making it a very enjoyable listen, I actually prefer this series to the new Jack Ryan JR series and will definitely keep getting his books as they come out

I felt the pain, the loss - Very well Written
Some of the best emotional descriptive writing I think I have ever listened too. The characters were real; sometimes it felt too real because I could feel the loss - the emotions being described. The over all plot is a new one, the ending is a familiar if you listen to this genre. It feels like this really could or did happen. I couldn't stop listening. Yes there was action but it was more about the people, the characters and the events that illustrated who they and the war on terrorism are. Great book. I hope the next becomes available from Audible soon. I highly recommend this book.

Horrible Narration. Weak story.
Where do I start? Let's see. From the first word this book was awful. This narrator has no business doing a military thriller. Over the top dramatics with his voice, then whispers, The central character is so over done that it was painful to listen to. Please narrators do your research first. There were so many technical mistakes, it was hard to count them but here are a couple of my favorites. An M1911 handgun is a nineteen eleven named after the year it was first introduced. It is not a one dot nine dot one dot one. Neither are five eleven tactical pants called five. one. dot one. The audio quality was all over the place. Audible should be ashamed to publish this trash. Sounded like it was recorded in a garage. Don't waste your time. Worst book I have listened to in a long time and I listen to 10 or so audio books in this genre each month.

Great book, fun story, terrible narrator
This was a great book, but narrator sounds like when Eric Cartman impersonated a superhero. His reading sounds like he's trying to make a mockery of the story and his frequent mispronounciations of several words don't help either.

Wasted opportunity
The book is well written, author is knowledgeable and has some skill. But the narration is horrible. The narrator sounds stuffed up, like he has a head cold...hard to listen to. I stopped at chapter 4. I might read this authors books but I cannot listen to this guy any more.

Highly recommended
This starts with the classic, hey it's a small town feel, and then with each engagement, we feel Shep grow as a person, officer, soldier, and operator. This book had me cracking the Holy $#!+ its Jason Bourne jokes, but at the same time it doesn't feel over the top. Almost like a man, with Shepards training, could and does exist, and if thrown in this perfect storm, could really happen. Alright now that I've dropped some spoilers without context, go read (or listen like I did) this book.
Looking forward to the rest of this series.
