Summary
We predict amazing success for this brand-new mystery series starring Psychic Abby Cooper.
Abby Cooper is a P.I., psychic intuitive. But her insight failed her when she didn't foresee the death of one of her clients - or that the lead investigator for the case is the gorgeous blind date she just met. Now, with the police suspicious of her abilities and a killer on the loose, Abby's future looks more uncertain than ever.

Couldn't finish it
I really wanted to give this a go, and got through 50% of the book until I just couldn't anymore. The premise was great, and the mystery was compelling, but I could not persevere with the writing of the main character. The attempt at writing this witty, clever and quirky character really comes off forced at times. The story could do with much editing, as it is full of superfluous detail, much of it to (again) force this picture of the main character. Generic aloof hyper-masculine love interest made me sigh. Use of the word "Homos" made me cringe.
Oh, I should add though that the narrator was fantastic.

Okay-ish
This book is okay but not great. The story is a bit slow and drags in places, and to be honest I wasn't particularly enamoured with the main character who came across as a bit spoiled and selfish. However the worst thing about this book by far is the narration. Elizabeth Michaels has the most annoying voice I have had to endure yet. It's whiny and grating and just makes the main character sound even more irritating and petulant then she already is. I will never buy another title that uses this narrator as I really cannot stand her voice. Overall I cannot say I actually liked or enjoyed this book but it was okay to have on in the background while I was busy doing other things as I doesn't require any real attention.

What about Elizabeth Michaels’s performance did you like?
Ms Michaels is simply perfect: her voice delivers the drama, humour and characterisations beautifully. I sincerely hope she narrates more books in the future.
Any additional comments?
This was a very enjoyable book with great characters and a lot of gentle humour combined with the drama. I'm definitely going to listen to more of this collection.

review of Abby Cooper series
I can recommend this series. There are seven of "Psychic Eye Mysteries" available at this time. I would give the first one or two books three stars and each book gets better with #4 being quite an improvement, and with #5, the author hits her stride finally and they are great listens (not GREAT books but good light adventures.) My one quality for a good book is that I want to continue reading or listening. Since I have listened with some enthusiasm to all of them, the author has succeeded. But I need to want potential readers. I would say the author learns to avoid some absolutely awful shortcomings as the series continues. Her dialogue is awful and the slang the characters use doesn't fit the characters apparent age or identity. [{There are times I have no idea how old the main characters are and have no idea at all where the book is set.] She can not write from a man's point of view. The relationship the main characters develops over the series is so embarrassing and predictable for the first three, I almost stopped reading. Plus the main character seems to only have developed three dimensions by the fifth book and even then, things like attractiveness and sociability seem to change abruptly. You might want to start at book four or five... at that point I can truly recommend the imperfect but interesting tales of Abby Cooper and her friends.

Enjoyed it right away!
Audible was having another one of their $4.95 sales and they have managed to rope me into another series with the Abby Cooper books! I really enjoyed this book right from the beginning. I won't say that it wasn't a tab bit predictable, but honestly, don't all these types of books have the same basic formula? I mean look at the Stephanie Plum/Evanovich series, it's somewhat predictable, but we still love it because it's full of laughs, mystery and a dash of romance. If you enjoy those kinds of books then you should definitely try Abby Cooper. She's a great little quirky heroine that will steal your heart and leave you rooting for her!

Abby Is The Worst.
Any additional comments?
I wanted to like this book so much. And the moments when Abby is psychically reading someone are great, but the rest of the book is terrible for the sole reason that Abby is a crazy A-Hole. Sort-of-spoliers ahead: Abby finds out she is being stalked by a killer, but doesn't tell anyone; She goes out of town and doesn't tell anyone because she is mad at a boy; The whole time out of town she doesn't charge her phone; Someone wants to kill her, but she decides she can stop by her office for a while. When Abby realizes who the murderer is, she thinks it's ok to go to sleep and let the police know in the morning because it's not like 10 hours will make a difference to anyone or anything, right? Abby sucks big time and I hated her by the end, especially near the end. Do not listen to this book unless you really like ridiculously stupid people. There was so much potential, what a shame.

She got me hooked!
I purchased this book at the try-a-new-series sale. I am really partial to books in a series. This is a delightful book on its own, but I think if you give it a listen, you will want the ones that follow it, as well. They can be read out of order, but the relationships and her business do develop, so I recommend reading them in order. Abby Cooper is delightful. The humor in the story is well placed and pertinent to the story line. Her intuition and her predicaments are interesting and just a bit surprising. The plot is unpredictable enough to make me sorry that the story ended.

Banned Narrator
I'm really enjoying this series. The premise is fun and the plots are interesting. However, I am putting the narrator on my "Banned" list. Her pronunciation is terrible. She butchers certain words repeatedly. Her voice is not unpleasant to listen to, but after about the 10th mispronunciation in the first 5 minutes it gets annoying. I will finish this series because I like the characters, but I won't be listening to another book with this narrator.

I was so pleased to come across this series. It does remind me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. If you enjoy it you should also check out the Sophie Katz series by Kyra Davis and the Body Movers series by Stephanie Bond. Many great hours of entertainment.
I do agree with other reviewers in their assessment of the narrator~ I have heard much better, but if you can get past her the book is really enjoyable. I look forward to listening to the entire series.

Glad I didn't listen to the nay-sayers
The narrator in no way ruined this book for me. I'd been looking at this book and series for awhile but kept putting it off because of all the negative comments on the reader. I decided to give it a try anyway and I'm glad I did. My pet peeve is monotone readers, but Ms. Michaels puts emotion in her voice to try to convey when Abby is amused or angry and during conversations you could tell which character was speaking. As another reviewer said, she was fine. I won't hesitate to get the rest of this series or other books she might read. I have to admit she won't go on my list of favorite narrators along with Marguerite Gavin, Kate Reading and Scott Brick but they can't read everything.
I'd recommend this series if you're in the mood for a light cozy-style mystery. The details on her psychic insights, the way they come about and how they work, add an extra dimension to the story and make up for some of the shortcomings of the book. I agree that at times Abby seems very childish but perhaps that was the author's way of showing the heroine wasn't perfect. I did get attached to Abby and Dutch and want to hear how Abby's psychic intuition helps solve more cases in the other books.
