Summary

In a world with no law, there is little hope for survival

It’s been a little over two years since Judas infected the world. Mankind was no match for a virus with a stronger will to survive.

The sick wander aimlessly, with a hunger that is never satisfied. The only hope for humanity lies within the immune. A group of survivors set out to rebuild in spite of the apocalypse, but they are faced with the reality that man is the most dangerous threat when they are no rules.

The immune survived Judas, but can they survive a violent world?

"Fate leads the living ...

...And drags along the reluctant. "
Book three of the Great Dying trilogy, and, it just so happens, the first one I read. I'm not usually a great can of zombie type stories but this one so impressed me, I immediately went back to read books one and two. Because these living dead evolved. And the people, the food after which they lusted, were real, their fates undetermined. I found myself totally enthralled.

Narrationn, like the writing, was tight, well paced, full of just enough emotion, and Alex Black also gave good individual voicing to each character. A good performance. This is an excellently executed thriller, some gore, lots of action but very much about the people - and it even works as a stand alone, although I am very much looking forward to it's predecessors.
The Last Days was a free download from the Free Audible Book Codes website: my thanks to the rights holder for making it available, without any obligation, to anyone requesting it. Recommended to anyone enjoying apocalyptic zombie stories, and even those who are not usually so keen!
