Story
Heaven. Eternity. The Afterlife. You mention any of these concepts, and people of all ages and from all walks of life are certain to have opinions. Maybe that's why there are so many books and movies that feature heaven-and-back experiences. But how can we know if those accounts are accurate? How can we know for sure what heaven will be like? Well, according to New Testament scholar and popular author Scot McKnight, all we need to do is to turn to scripture to answer our questions.

Story
Your God is too small. We like God small. We prefer a God who is safe, domesticated, who thinks like we think, likes what we like, and whom we can manage, predict, and control. A small God is convenient. Practical. Manageable. The truth: God is big. Bigger than big. Bigger than all the words we use to say big. Ironically, many today seem turned off by the concept of an awesome, terrifyingly great God. We assume that a God you would need to fear is guilty of some kind of fault. For us, thinking of God as so infinitely greater and wiser than we are and who would cause us to tremble in his presence is a leftover relic.

There are true things about us and there are truer things. David Lomas invites readers to move beyond what may simply be true to the truest thing, discovering a real identity in Christ. We are all bundles of competing desires and half-true labels. We arry them around like scars; we carry them around like badges. They tell us we are no more than a job description, relationship status, or appearance. But the most important and truest identity of every Christian is that they are loved, accepted, and created in the image of God.

Story
Roberta Grimes spent decades studying nearly 200 years of afterlife evidence and forming a detailed picture of what happens at and after death. She then discovered that 2,000 years ago Jesus told us things about God, reality, death, the afterlife, human nature, and the nature of reality that perfectly match the afterlife evidence in even small details. She demonstrates that all the correspondences between the Gospels and the afterlife evidence amount to nothing less than a new revelation from God.

Story
Some people think that salvation is merely about meeting the minimal entrance requirements needed to get into heaven when they die. But that’s not how Jesus talked about it. Rightly understood, salvation is an invitation to know God and to experience his presence, favor, and power starting right here on earth. Best-selling author John Ortberg dispels the myth that eternal life is something we can only hope to experience after we die; recaptures the New Testament definition of salvation, eternal life, and the Good News of the Gospel; and explains what it really means to be a disciple.

You’ve heard the Christmas story time and again. Perhaps it seems there’s nothing new to discover. Take another look, a closer gaze, at the details that reveal God’s love in the gift of a baby who would forever change the world. Six beloved Christian authors - Max Lucado, John Maxwell, Jack Hayford, Bill Hybels, David Jeremiah, and Rick Warren - share from a unique perspective and help you hear afresh the message God wants to whisper to your heart during this holiday. God loves you. God is with you. God is in every detail of your life.
Summary
A recent Newsweek poll reports that 76 percent of Americans believe in heaven. Yet even avid believers have difficulty conjuring up more than vague images of halos, harps, and wispy angels in flowing robes. Anthony DeStefano knew there had to be a more complete, meaningful, and comforting vision of what heaven is like, and A Travel Guide to Heaven is the entertaining and enlightening result.
Using the Bible as his guide, the author notes that heaven is not only a spiritual place, but also a physical place, a fabulous “luxury resort” more sumptuous than any on Earth. The residents are real, their bodies transformed into their most perfect selves - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. By making a spiritual subject immensely physical, the book provides a picture of amazing places to visit, things to do, luxuries for pampering - not to mention deep, abiding joy.
Combining the clarity and logic of C. S. Lewis with a terrific sense of fun and adventure, DeStefano creates a brilliant, reassuring portrait of heaven, a place that has intrigued and puzzled humankind throughout history. With its clear view of the afterlife, A Travel Guide to Heaven might best be compared to James Van Praagh's Talking to Heaven or Betty J. Eadie's Embraced by the Light in its tremendous message of comfort and reassurance.

A life savoir book
This is a book everybody needs to read. It was such an eye opener for me who, although a catholic, always had my doubts. I don't have them anymore. I have an enormous need to go out into the street shouting this truth. The book is so easy-going, I am going to give it to my daughters to listen to. I can't thank the author enough. May God bless him.

An Enjoyable and Refreshing Post Modernity Read
“A Travel Guide to Heaven” has been a enjoyable and refreshing read during these post modernity times when people are leaving the Church and a belief in GOD is constantly being eroded. This is not a “feel good” read but it will delight. This in not an academic tome that will bog you down. It is just right for the times we live in and the “parishioner in the pew”. Mr. DeStefano uses many direct quotes from the Bible to emphasis his ideas and perspectives on a subject that can be very eluding or overwhelming. I welcome Mr. Stefanos book to my previous readings about heaven from the academic perspective of Peter Kreeft’s “Everything You Wanted to Know about Heaven”, the more poetic perspective C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce” to the popular Mitch Albom's “The Five People You Meet in Heaven”. Experienced as an Audio book.

A must read to get you on the path to heaven..
I read this book when it came out years ago. It changed my life! I bought 10 copies & gave them away - I thought everyone should read it! Although Catholic with a good knowledge of my faith, I couldn't wrap my mind around "heaven".. how can someone be happy & content ALL THE TIME!!! Mr. DeStefano has a way with words - simple yet thought provoking and backed up by scripture. I learned most importantly that not everyone goes to heaven.. our time on earth is the only time we have to pave our way to eternity! Our time here is just a drop in the vast universe - I'm spending the rest of my life preparing for the final destination!
