About this listen

Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius. Warlock Holmes is an idiot.

A font of arcane power, certainly. But he’s brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldn’t deduce his way out of a paper bag. The only thing he has really got going for him are the might of a thousand demons and his stalwart companion.

Thankfully, Dr. Watson is always there to aid him through the treacherous shoals of Victorian propriety...and save him from a gruesome death every now and again.

Performed by Scott McCormick, Eric Messner, Patrick Bussink, David Jourdan, Matthew Keenan, Yasmin Tuazon, Jonathan Feuer, Bradley Smith, David Coyne, Steven Carpenter, Chris Davenport, Dani Stoller, Richard Rohan, Matthew Schleigh, Michael Glenn, Peter Holdway, Eva Wilhelm, Michael John Casey, Lolita Horne, Laura C Harris, Andy Clemence, Colleen Delany, Eleanor Todd, Jillian Levine-Sisson, Ken Jackson, Nanna Ingvarsson, Terence Aselford, Todd Scofield, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Mort Shelby.

A nice take on a classic. Doesn’t take itself too seriously with lots of lol moments.

An imaginative and humorous retelling. While it’s not necessary to be familiar with the original stories, knowing them won’t decrease your enjoyment either

This not my usual thing but they hooked me with a freebie on Book 1, and now I’m in!

It is very silly, kinda gory in places but also made me laugh out loud unexpectedly several times. Book 2 is now definitely on my list.

The only thing that slightly niggled was being able to hear it was American actors playing such traditionally British characters (the actors were fantastic, as were the characters they played, but I’m a massive Sherlock Holmes fan and Victorian English with an American accent will just always feel slightly out of kilter).

Like I said tho, great fun, some really clever twists and dialogue, and I’m definitely a new fan of the series!

Massive fun!
