Özet
Autumn in West Virginia brings cool, crisp days, cozy treats—and an unexpected theft at the local college’s Homecoming Fall Fest when a valuable sculpture goes missing. English professor Jo Blue Oliver puzzles over the culprit’s identity even as she finalizes plans for her latest Agatha Christie book club, this time featuring Hallowe’en Party, a perfectly creepy selection for the current season.
The club regulars include Jo’s new boyfriend, Sheriff Dane Matthews, who reveals that the crime is the latest in a string of upscale burglaries around town. But a darker mystery surfaces when Jo joins her art professor friend at an abandoned house for a photo session and discovers a fresh body in the root cellar. As Dane investigates both crimes, Jo can’t help digging in—especially once the trail winds toward passionate opposition to an area data center.
With both students and staff members involved in the controversy, the suspect pool is deep and dangerous. And as a candlelit costume party spins out of control, and Jo’s daughter, Millie, becomes a target, Jo and Dane must unmask a murderer who’s already plotting their next homicide…
