Story
With Normal Gets You Nowhere, Kelly Cutrone invites us to get our freak on. History is full of successful, world-changing people who did not fit in. Think Nelson Mandela, Joan of Arc, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, John Lennon, and Rosa Parks. Instead of changing themselves to accommodate the status quo or what others thought they should be, these people hung a light on their differences - and changed humanity in the process. “I know you don’t feel normal, so why are you trying to act it and prove to everyone you are?” Cutrone says.

Mike Daley doesn't go to confession much since he left the priesthood twenty years ago and became a lawyer, but that doesn't stop his old friend, Father Ramon Aguirre, from trying to get him there. "It wouldn't kill you to go to church once in a while," he tells Mike. But it does kill someone. For several months, a ruinous sexual harassment suit has been building against the San Francisco Catholic Archdiocese, and when the plaintiff's lawyer is found dead, an almost audible sigh of relief is heard.

There are plenty of normal, decent women out there. This book isn't about them. This book is intended for the men who worked steadily over the last 20-plus years, helped their wives raise the kids, attended all their plays and sporting events, mowed the lawn, took out the garbage, fixed the sink, were patient and understanding during that "time of the month", and fully expected to be married for the rest of their lives. Then out of nowhere, the women they'd loved, honored, and cherished for the last two-plus decades couldn't stand the sight of them....
