Summary

Love, friendship and family come in all different shapes and sizes.

Gina has been going with the flow for years - she'd rather have an easy life than face any conflict. She runs her childminding business from her cottage at the edge of The Evergreens, a charming Victorian house and home to three octogenarians who have far too much fun for their age.

But when The Evergreens is put up for sale, Gina and the other residents face losing their home. To protect her business and save her elderly friends from eviction, Gina must make a stand and fight for the first time in her life.

As Gina's ideas for saving The Evergreens get bigger and bolder, she starts to believe it might just be possible. The only thing is, does she believe in herself?

Warm and fuzzy

I love cathy Bramley’s books , and this one lives up to expectations. I listened the the audiobook version which is wonderfully narrated by Colleen Prendergast. This can be easily read as a stand alone, but we see a partial return of Rosie and some of her family from the Lemon Tree Cafe. As usual you get swept away into a world of lovely characters, and you find yourself rooting for them through their ups and downs until it all escalates into a glorious finish. Great fun. Loved it .

Warm and feel goo.

This book follows the story of Gina, a divorced childminder, as she builds herself a new life, and pulls together her patchwork family. Some old characters from previos books, make a very welcome return. The story trots along at a good pace. The characters generally likeable and relatable. The show is well and truely stolen, by the wit and warmth of the youngest and oldest characters, with Gina being the glue that sticks them all together. Definately one of Cathy’s best, a really enjoyable read. Well done to Coleen Prendegast aswell, on yet another outstanding audio performance.

Would highly recommend

What a lovely story read beautifully by Colleen. Loved the little twists and turns in the lives of the characters, all brought together in Barnaby for different reasons.

Very Pleasant

This is an easy listen for unwinding to, it isn't demanding and will probably be forgotten by next week. The narrator wasn't to my taste but not bad

Slow start but great book

I really didn’t think I would enjoy this book as it has a very slow start but once I got into it I loved it

A fun listen

This is my first book by Cathy Bramley. I could stop listening. Colleen Pendargast brought all the characters to life. I knew who was talking. This is a fun book to listen/read.

Absolutely lovely

What a wonderful story. Will definitely re-listen. A nice escape from all of today’s issues. Narration perfect. Story just wonderful. I feel as if all these characters are also my friends.
