'Moving, outrageous and outrageously funny' Dawn French

When a toxic hospital consultant dies of a heart attack, fellow doctor Eitan Rose smells foul play. Nobody else does though, including some quite crucial players like the police and the coroner.

But Eitan just won't let it drop, and his friends and colleagues become increasingly concerned about his mental health as his chaotic investigation and equally chaotic life spiral out of control. Is he making a career-ending mistake, or could there genuinely be a killer stalking the wards?

A deathly funny mix of mystery, murder and medicine, A PARTICULARLY NASTY CASE is the brilliantly original debut novel from Adam Kay, BAFTA-winning author of multi-million global bestseller THIS IS GOING TO HURT.

I loved Adam Kay’s previous books, but I could not finish this one. Being an NHS clinician myself I laughed in places, but the story line was too crazy and I struggled to sympathise with privileged cocaine snorting Ethan in his life struggles. The annoyingly sounding narrator was the famous final nail in the coffin. I genuinely do not care who the killer was.

Didn’t like the storyline and narrator

Brilliantly narrated but disappointing content. Guessed the culprit very early on. Gratuitous swearing and sexual references that didn’t add to the story.

Great narration

Some funny parts to the book but it just wasn't for me. I disliked the main character from the start which made listen about the character and his behaviours hard work.
Narrator was very good however. Will be looking for more books read by them.

Good narrator

An absolutely fabulous book. The writing was just great, so many fab characters as well as many great twists and turns. Even though some of the content was very serious, the humour around it was an absolute delight. Chefs kiss to the narrator, this is the first time I have heard this person and sincerely hope it won’t be the last.
