About this listen

After Elizabeth falls for a charming and eccentric painter named Aidan, she allows him to take her maidenhood that results in a forced marriage. Now that they are married, the painter has taken her back to his home of Venice, Italy, where he plans to continue painting and incorporate Elizabeth into his life; as it seems he truly does love her, even though the marriage was forced to prevent scandal - or so it seems.

Things start to unravel when she first realizes that he has lied to her. Then she hears that he may have a mistress, followed by his sudden disappearance and new neglectful attitude toward his wife. This drives Elizabeth into the arms of another Italian, which causes Aidan to want to explain his actions only to be interrupted by his mistress showing up at their front door.
