A good narrator and an entertaining story
This was another interesting case in Hope Hadley's world. Murder by Christmas lights gave it a twist. I enjoyed the thought process to solve the mystery. Rachel Carr did a wonderful job giving a voice to these characters and added to the entertainment of the story. I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

This is #5 in the series but great stand alone.
This book is a great stand alone. Rachal Carr does a fantastic job with narration and keeps your interest The characters are believable and likable. You have the cozy mystery that keeps you guessing. I love the Christmas theme. George is murdered with Christmas lights. He always over decorated his house so it's a sad way to die. I highly recommend this book.

Hope is slowing going crazy and her boyfriend Daniel is trying to help----untangle christmas lights. As they're sitting there working police sirens are heard. They head out to find out what's going on only to find the cops across the way and then her brother, Joe, the homicide detective steps into view. Days before Christmas and one of the neighbors has been killed. Who would have done this? And why? Rachel Carr is great as the narrator for this story. She pulls you in with her voice and keeps you with her as you listen to this murder mystery. Fantastic audio and story.

A Suspenseful Christmas Tale
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. It is always a pleasure to listen to Meredith Potts' books and as we are approaching the Christmas Holidays I'm binging on her books, especially the holidays ones. The cozy mysteries are short enough that you can easily listen to them without interruptions. I've listen to this particular book while decorating my house for Christmas. How appropriate.... The narrative is pleasant and even though part of a series, the book works just as well as a standalone. It is a little unorthodox that civilian Hope would be allowed to be part of official police murder investigations, but poetic (or literary) license is what novels are all about... This particular tale happens to take place during the Christmas period, when the wonderful aromas of eggnog, Christmas cookies, and spice cakes waft though the air and from the pages of the book. The mystery is intriguing enough to keep you guessing to the end. The narration is pleasant, though some words are mispronounced, but the interpretation more than makes up for it. This is a Christmas book you don't want to miss.

A SIMPLE CHRISTMAS COZY
A NOT SO MERRY CHRISTMAS MURDER is the fifth book in the Hope Hadley Cozy Mysteries series. They can be read in any order. I love Christmas stories – all Christmas stories – and this one did not disappoint. Another simple cozy mystery set in the time of holly and tinsel. Ms. Potts does convey her feelings regarding the commercialism of the season (and I don’t disagree) without getting preachy. The story also points out the competitiveness of the season as well. I was a little disappointed in the solution. I don’t want to give a spoiler, but she’s used this solution before and very recently. On the other hand, it is a reasonable expectation in this digital age. In the end, I can only say that I am always happy to spend a few hours with Hope Hadley, her brother, and her boyfriend. The next time we meet, it will be a Killer Injustice. Narration: Note to Rachel Carr: the word “ dour ” rhymes with sour. I had to listen the sentence twice to figure out what you meant when you said door! Unfortunately, this is not the only instance of odd pronunciation. Your voice is sweet, but you need to work on delivering a product as wonderful as the words that have been written. Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely. Title: A NOT SO MERRY CHRISTMAS MURDER Series: Hope Hadley Cozy Mysteries #5 Category /Genre: Cozy Mysteries Recommended for: 12+ due to content Listenability: OK for ears Received from: Meredith Potts (as an Audible gifted copy)

A Not so Merry Christmas Murder
This is another short and sweet murder mystery for Hope Hadley. When her neighbor is the victim it has hit to close to home and Hope is determined to help her brother figure it out, so everyone can have a Merry Christmas. As it turns out her neighbor had a lot of enemies so it may not be as easy as first thought, that is until a crucial piece of evidence comes to light. Nice job on the narration.
