Summary

A novel of peril and passion from number-one New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts.

The last thing NYPD Sergeant James "Slade" Sladerman needs is to babysit a spoiled heiress. But Jessica Winslow's antiques shop is suspected of being used by an international smuggling ring, and Slade is being sent undercover to investigate - and keep Jessica out of trouble.

The woman Slade meets isn't what he expected. And neither is the desire that springs up between them….

Worst Norah Roberts novel I've ever read

I've read more of Norah Roberts novels than I can count because even though they're formulaic, they are easy entertainment after reading something much weightier like a glass of water to cleanse the pallet between wines. This novel, however, was so bad I was shocked. The plot was so weak that she plugged in repetitive love scenes throughout, and they quickly became tiresome.

Classic Nora Roberts

I loved the characters and the story line and I really enjoyed the narrator. I look forward to my next Nora Roberts book.

Another amazing story

I love Nora Roberts. I can read our listen to her books all day long and be happy. She is a true romantic at heart.

weak characters

I adore Nora Roberts as an author, but this one was a swing and a miss.

Hard Headed Woman

I really wanted to give this Jessica a kick in the pant's. I have little patience with someone who dives in when not needed. If this book had been real life. She would have ended up getting both of herself and the cop killed. Do I find her brave and heroic? No I find her hard headed and a know it all. Sorry Ms. Roberts I didn't particularly like this female lead. Like I usually do with your other female leads. Also sorry Mr. Podehl but your female voice was a little much. On the other hand your Male voices were very good. Think this would be better with you and a female narrator.

Probably the worst of her books yet.

I am struggling to find the words to describe just how much I disliked this book. It felt as if it were thrown together just to gets another book out there.

Wow has Nora Roberts changed her tune

I like the soft mommyporn of her later books The men are aware kind beings. But A Matter of Choice finds our hero? Calling the lead woman an idiot numerous times. Threatening to Deck her. There is no reason to listen to this book other than to compare the Authors newer books like the Witness or Shelter In Place. Don’t waste your time.

Engaging Story

Loved the storyline. Nora's heroine's energy seemed boundless. The leading man was a typical male (you'll find out girls), with lots of guess what: testosterone. Nicely written. Nick Podehl gives a very fine performance. Think you'll enjoy it.

Good one

This is an older book that I had read before but was still enjoyable to listen to. Takes a little while to get used to not having the modern technology available.
