From a 3 sport varsity athlete with straight A’s to homeless drug addict, he has lived two lives for the past 7 years and nobody had a clue. His use of opiates started when he injured his knee in wrestling, which ultimately lead him to heroin. He has lived it all; homeless, broken both spiritually and emotionally, alone with nobody to help due to his own actions which ultimately lead February 10, 2016, where he sat on Lake Michigan with a gun in his mouth. Thankfully, the gun misfired and it was at that point that he realized he couldn't get better on his own. After going to treatment, he immediately started to plug in to recovery. He worked the twelve steps, got a job, paid rent, and did what was suggested. Today he is an Outreach Coordinator for Banyan Treatment Center and a volunteer at A Man In Recovery Foundation.
