Summary

Stormy Morgan thought coming home to Shadow Hills would break her. Instead, she’s found strength, and only part of it is because she’s discovered that she’s a witch. Now, with her great-grandmother coming to town, she’s finally in line for some answers. Now she just has to solve a pesky little murder before she’s free to cast and curse.

Following their first date, a quiet outing for pizza and romance, Stormy and her boyfriend, Hunter Ryan, discover that owner Giovanni Rossi was gunned down in his parking lot sometime during the overnight hours. To make matters worse, Stormy believes she dreamed of the murder before finding out about it, which throws everybody for a loop.

Even though Hunter would prefer Stormy focus on her great-grandmother, he’s resigned to the fact that she can’t turn away from the investigation. Together, they start digging...and discover some disturbing clues involving various community members.

Stormy’s magic is evolving, almost on a daily basis, and it’s only outpaced by her curiosity. Once faced with a mystery, she can’t look away, and those who love her most will be dragged along for the ride.

Strap in, because as Stormy learns more about what she can do - with a little help from the Winchesters from Hemlock Cove - she’ll become a force to be reckoned with. She just has to survive long enough to reach her full potential...and that’s easier said than done.

I loved this book and i want more of this series!!

this book was so much fun! i love Stormy's grandparents, They are such a hoot! I also love how close to Hemlock Cove they are, and that those characters are easily brought in to play a part in Stormy's story.
i like that she can accept how Monica feels and deal with it maturely, and i especially can't Wait for Phoebe's inevitable downfall!

quick listen

Falls in line with the rest of the series, fun, quick listen, and the narrator does a great job. My only (personal) annoyance is that the writer *majorly* over uses the term "grouse" to describe the way someone says something in response-- seriously, several times a chapter gets annoying and distracting. thesaurus.com is free and should be referenced a little more often

This series is sassy!

The lead character is pretty snarky and flawed, which is why she appeals to me. She does not let anyone control her. She makes some bad decisions-no doubt! It makes her more relatable. And there is a cat.....

Don’t think I can wait until the next book!!!!!

Amazing as usual Ms. Lee! Another stellar book and series! Love the cross overs from other characters. Stormy is still trying to figure out her powers and grandpa and great grandma are hilarious! Keep them coming! Love them all.

Surprise ending

I must say that I felt the book took longer than necessary to evolve. I was @ the point of trying to decide if I wanted to continue with the series. But the last couple of minutes before ending my interest was piqued enough to possibly read the next one. No spoilers from me but I was expecting this reveal a little sooner than it actually happened. The book was a bit more formulaic in nature & I’m really hoping the pace picks up in the future. It seems to hold promise @ least.

Really Enjoyed it!

I liked the story. It was entertaining. Sometimes the dialogue between Stormy and Hunter is too mushy, but otherwise good.
