The end of the story is a bit disappointing, like the author lost the patience or run out of space on the page. Bit quick tbh

This is so, so well written. Such a wonderful surprise. It’s a modern and original take on the historical romance genre, which is no mean feat!! It’s spicy too, but in a way which is completely necessary within the storyline. I adored the progression of this relationship; I adored the realism of it, the wit, the excellent prose. If you like Lisa Kleypas or Judith Ivory or Loretta Chase, this would be a book for you, SO GOOD. Wish I could read it for the first time again. And I’m gutted Cecilia Grant doesn’t write anymore!

(Narrator’s pronunciation of British English was occasionally weird, so knocked a couple of stars off performance for that.)

Great book, the story line was fantastic. After listening to countless romance audiobooks it feels like I never get anything new but this was certainly surprising. I didn't even mind the many sex scenes which I normally find tedious and more or less the same. The ending couldn't have been better. Would highly recommend.

An indecent proposal

The story had arms and legs, but it was all a bit farcical for me. At times the story felt like the musings, thoughts and even machinations in someone's head. After all the planning and scheming to just give it up at the last hurdle, it made no sense at all.

The narrator was most annoying, mispronouncing everyday words, which makes me think it's either AI or the narrator is thick as mince.
