Summary

Willow Tree Hall, the proud ancestral home of the Earl and Countess of Cranley for centuries, has seen better days. Annie Rogers takes the job as housekeeper at Willow Tree Hall, having to work with a reluctant heir Sam Harris to renovate the failing estate. With Sam running from his past and Annie hiding from hers, just maybe together they can bring Willow Tree Hall back to life.

Assuming is nearly always wrong

A fine romantic tale of interesting quality. Told at a good pace with lots of little side stories the story was enjoyable up-to the usual “ misunderstanding “ finale . Worth reading .

Story lacked substance

Poorly developed characters, very basic and unbelievable storyline topped off with a narrator who read it in a childlike manner.

A treasure of a story

Lovely characters especially Arthur and Great Aunt Rose. The house is literally falling apart and the story of renovation with it’s comic moments, near on disaster, restoration of people and lives is genuinely heartwarming. Story of a family that emerges for someone who has no family. Lots of layers as you discover different characters. Beautiful and full of love.
Narration is great, seems like some listeners think narration is easy. To build up so many characters and bring them to life is an amazing skill. Those who listen to this will find a treasure.

Slow and steady wins the race

At first I thought I wasn’t going to finish it but after chapter 4 I really got into it and couldn’t stop listening. It was a lovely story. And I’d love to read a continuation of the story.
