Summary

Expanded and updated, this is the definitive history of British serial killing 1888-2020 - by the UK's leading expert, David Wilson.

In this fascinating and informative audiobook, Professor David Wilson tells the stories of Britain's serial killers from Jack the Ripper to the extraordinary Suffolk Murders case.

David Wilson has worked as a prison governor and as a profiler and has been described as the UK's leading expert on serial killers. His work has led him to meet several of the UK's deadliest killers and build up fascinating insights into what makes a serial killer - and who they are most likely to target.

A vivid narrative history and a call for prison and social reform, Professor Wilson's new audiobook is a powerful and gripping investigation of Britain's serial murderers.

Kelly

A very insightful book looking into more detail if the victims, rather than their killers.

Serial Killers

I found this Audible Book to be a Margaret Thatcher bashing by the Author and Narrator David Wilson and will never listen to anything by David Wilson in the future. Shame on David Wishy Washy Wilson.

Boring - if you like stats then this is for you

I found this extremely boring.
It's all about percentages and general stats than it is about any stories.

Listen and Learn

A good analysis of the groups of people targeted by serial killers. It looks at the sociology behind it.

VV Poor,not well researched

Very very poor, the author has some questionable theories which seem to have been plucked out of the air, like blaming Thatcher for serial killers.
The usual bonkers ideology.

I loved the level of research that went into this book..the points and opinions were explained well and the victim group focus was unique from any of have read before. Excellent.

Electrifying and enraging listen.

Hugely relatable in terms of Britishness, terminology and slang. Also massively depressing at the injustice of the identified victim groups and how little has changed in a century. Tragic and sad. Really powerful hearing the author read.

A must for anyone who's interested in true crime

I loved every minute of it. I finished it in 2 days. A really good insight into how killers get away with murder. I consumed a lot of true crime books audible and paperbacks. This was refreshing to see another side. I will definitely be listening again.

Wonderful and interesting

The book was very interesting and I love that the author read his own book.

I tried this as an audiobook but returned it.

This would work better used as a reference book in print/Kindle. Dull/no story.
