This autumn, in a follow-up autobiography, he tells us about the many other lives he has lived - his characters. From Del Boy to Granville, Pop Larkin to Frost, he takes us behind the scenes and under the skins of some of the best loved acts of his career. Welcome to Jeremy's farm. It's an idyllic spot, offering picturesque views across the Cotswolds, bustling hedgerows, woodlands and natural springs. Jeremy always liked the idea being a farmer. But, while he was barrelling around the world having more fun with cars than was entirely reasonable, it seemed obvious that the actual, you know, farming was much better left to someone else. Then one day he decided he would do the farming himself. After all, how hard could it be?

This is the story of amateur dramatics in Britain. In a triumphant mix of memoir, social history, interviews and manifesto, Jenny Landreth opens our eyes to am-dram and shows us a vibrant world that is a crucial part of our culture. Starting with the Mystery Plays of the Middle Ages, we move, via Shakespeare, to the Georgian aristocrats who built opulent private theatres in their own homes, then to the halcyon days of radical lefties taking political theatre to the streets and on to the present day.

Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The hilarious and heartfelt new autobiography from the national treasure Sir David Jason.
In celebration of Sir David Jason’s 80th year, A Del of a Life: Lessons I've Learned relives Jason’s extraordinary life and career from more than 50 years in entertainment. From a trainee electrician to one of Britain’s most revered and loved actors, Jason shares heartfelt and hilarious wisdom with listeners on subjects ranging from family to work, resilience to ebullience. Told with his characteristic warmth and wit, Jason shines a wonderful new light on the characters and shows that fans have come to love him for, from Del Boy to Granville, Larkin to Frost.
In my first two books, I enjoyed sharing my life with the great British public, and I was overwhelmed by their support and kindness. In my new book, A Del of a Life, I am delighted to share with readers some of the hard-won lessons I’ve learned along the way - how to dream big, how to work hard, and how not to fall through the gap in the pub bar....

Nice to hear
As a fan of david jason it was nice to hear his point of view and thoughts on some issues but all in it was a bit boring. I wouldnt waste money on it but a credit may be ok if your a big fan. Maybe it was the narrator as authors reading their own books is usually much better to listen to

Easy listening
An interesting although brief account of David Jason’s slow burning career. I admire him for his grit and determination in a fickle world where it’s hard to please everyone. An interesting insight to being famous. I liked his reminiscing about life as a boy and it mirrored my own. Loved the memories of queuing to go to the cinema in the 50’s and the innocence of being totally absorbed by the film stars and their characters.
