The way the narrator hangs on the last word of every sentence whens she’s being Constance
Makes it a tough listen .

I have listened to part 1 and 3 of this series and found the storyline a very good one. After listening to part 1 I was eager to see how it progressed, as the 2 narrators brought the characters to life But! Then I listened to part 3 (pt2 not available)

The narration for Constance was terrible, flat and uninteresting. I read all the other reviews before reading and I must admit I felt a little sorry for the narrator but I have to say they were right. The only reason why I kept on listening was the storyline and the fact that I had a rest bite from the droning on of the Constance narration but if another instalment comes out I will be looking at who the narrators are before purchasing. The 3 stars are there solely for the narration of Emily.

I know historical fiction often uses real people but taking a murder victim and those around her and creating a whole other plot is tacky and offensive. No respect here at all.

I'm so sorry for this but I really enjoyed the first book and hurried to listen to this but the person reading the book made it impossible to even get through the first chapter. I could not cope with the way she spoke with a strange forced voice.

It took several attempts for me to get through this audiobook. I found the endless mispronounced words very irritating - Fenian should be pronounced like Feenian or Phoebe and has nothing to do with the fens, wreck used for wreak, Holyhead should be pronounced like Hollyhead ….does anyone edit these recordings? As for the disrespect towards the last victim of Jack the Ripper, don’t get me started. Terrible narration and a very disappointing storyline.
