About this listen

A remote Highland castle. A dark and stormy night. A murder most haunting.

It’s Halloween, and when an elderly billionaire is discovered dead in the locked study of his stately Highland home, DCI Jack Logan and his team must race the worsening weather to get to the scene of the crime.

There, among the victim’s extended family and staff, Jack finds no shortage of suspects. Everyone, it seems, had reason to want the old man dead, and they all have something to hide.

Cut off from backup by the worst storm in decades, and with the cast and crew of a TV ghost-hunting show seriously cramping his style, Jack’s only chance of solving his latest case is by going back to basics.

But the castle’s residents won’t give him a minute to think.

Not even the dead ones....

Yet another excellent DCI Logan book. The narration was brilliant as always by Angus King.

excellent

An interesting experiment transposing a gritty police procedural into a cosy whodunnit. But please don’t mess around with the eminently entertaining formula again! Luckily, the marvellous Angus King could make the shipping forecast sound gripping

Hopefully a one-off

A slightly different book to the norm in this series with everyone trapped in one venue.
These novels always make laugh out loud some point!

The characters. The humour.

I love these books, I hate it when it's finished and have to wait for another. absolutely brilliant story and the perfect narrator.

JD Kirk and Angus King dream team

Excellent as always. The style was different but after this many books in the series it’d get stale if he didn’t shake it up now and again. I really don’t understand the people who are complaining. Feels like they just want to read the same plot again and again. I definitely recommend it.

Excellent as always.
