Summary

From USA Today bestselling author Julianne MacLean comes a suspenseful, emotionally charged novel that explores the secrets and hidden truths within a seemingly perfect marriage.

Abbie MacIntyre is living the dream in the picturesque Nova Scotia town she calls home. She is a successful surgeon, is married to a handsome cardiologist, and has a model teenage son who is only months away from going off to college.

But then one fateful night, everything changes. When a drunk driver hits her car, Abbie is rushed to the hospital. She survives, but the accident forces unimaginable secrets out into the open and plagues Abbie with nightmares so vivid that she starts to question her grip on reality. Her perfect life begins to crack, and those cracks threaten to shatter her world completely.

The search for answers will test her strength in every way—as a wife, a career woman, and a mother—but it may also open the door for Abbie to move forward, beyond anger and heartbreak, to find out what she is truly made of. In learning to heal and trust again, she may just find new hope in the spaces left behind.

This book started out great! I was in awe of the beginning, there was so much going on and lots of shocks but then it slowed down and I feel like it lost momentum. Sadly the second half of this book didn't live up to the first part for me. I was glad it had a happy ending but wished it had more in the middle.

The narration was very good.

4 🌟

Well written story about loss and redemption. As a talented surgeon recovers from the loss of her husband in a head on accident; she struggles to accept tragic results in her own life and career as she deals with with the aftermath of the fatal accident.
Kudos to the narrator, Coleen Marlo, for doing a superb job.

Pretty interesting book!

A curve in the road was a pretty decent book 📖
From the very first chapter the book was interesting and intriguing and it was very fast paced.
It is about a woman, Abbie, who has a perfect family.
An unfortunate accident happens, because of a drunk driver 🥴 which changes everything in Abbie's life. Abbie finds out that her perfect life wasn't so perfect and there were a lot of secrets hidden by her loved one. I was very much into the storyline and wanted to know, there were some slow parts, but overall the book is a page-turner, though I was listening to it 🤗
I liked that the storyline was believable, even though there were plot twists, they were something that potentially could happen. I really hate when the authors try way too hard to make the plot twists crazy.
I loved how Abbie was so concerned about her dog, Winston 🥺 and it made me like her more🥰, can't say the same about *someone who shall not be named, because if I name him/her it would be a spoiler alert*. 🤭🤫
Definitely recommending.😎
