Story
Penny and Victoria are about as different as two siblings can be, one with a smart London lifestyle, the other struggling to make ends meet. But they are joined by more than blood, and their shared tragic past is affecting the present more than they realise. When events begin to tug at the fabric beneath which dark secrets are hidden, the resulting chaos threatens to tear the two families apart. Could there be aspects of the past that youngest child Penny doesn't remember? Could the truth of Marge be more complex than the beloved mother the girls choose to perceive?

Story
When Cara stumbles across a stash of old postcards in the attic, their contents make her question everything she thought she knew. The story she pieces together is confusing and unsettling, and appears to have been patched over with lies. But who can tell her the truth? With her father sinking into Alzheimer’s and her brother reluctant to help, it seems Cara will never find the answers to her questions. One thing is clear, though: someone knows more than they’re letting on.

Summary
An Amazon Charts and Washington Post bestseller.
From USA Today bestselling author Julianne MacLean comes a suspenseful, emotionally charged novel that explores the secrets and hidden truths within a seemingly perfect marriage.
Abbie MacIntyre is living the dream in the picturesque Nova Scotia town she calls home. She is a successful surgeon, is married to a handsome cardiologist, and has a model teenage son who is only months away from going off to college.
But then one fateful night, everything changes. When a drunk driver hits her car, Abbie is rushed to the hospital. She survives, but the accident forces unimaginable secrets out into the open and plagues Abbie with nightmares so vivid that she starts to question her grip on reality. Her perfect life begins to crack, and those cracks threaten to shatter her world completely.
The search for answers will test her strength in every way - as a wife, a career woman, and a mother - but it may also open the door for Abbie to move forward, beyond anger and heartbreak, to find out what she is truly made of. In learning to heal and trust again, she may just find new hope in the spaces left behind.

Very meh
Everything that happens in this book from beginning to the end is predictable miles before the author actually gets to it. I could summarize the entire plot in under 60 seconds and nothing riveting happened. The actress reading it sounded like Alexa or Siri or the person that gives directions on your phone. Sorry guys, it’s the review I wish I had read before buying this book.

A good story BUT....
The story was a good one of recovery and forgiveness. The writing and narration, however, was way too formal and sounded very “stuffy” and unnatural.

Predictable but a decent story
Things I didn't like: The story itself was very predictable. Almost every "curve in the road" the main character faced was very apparent ahead of time. The book was too long, mainly because of the repetitive writing style. When the main character experienced something or had a conversation that she later recounted to someone else, she did so word for word, instead of just saying " I told him about my dream" etc. I also found the narrator hard to take...she sounded very affected and full of herself. I found myself rolling my eyes in the car a few times.
Things I did like: The overall storyline was original and actually made me think about how I would deal with being in the same situation. Although the romantic storyline was a bit cheesy, I did appreciate that it was lowkey and stayed away from sexual content. It was refreshing to read a book with no sex or cursing in it.
A bit too long but overall a good book.

This book started out great! I was in awe of the beginning, there was so much going on and lots of shocks but then it slowed down and I feel like it lost momentum. Sadly the second half of this book didn't live up to the first part for me. I was glad it had a happy ending but wished it had more in the middle.
The narration was very good.

I enjoyed this book and it was emotional for me. Also having tragically losing a husband and being in the same position as Abby as to what secrets to reveal to the kids and what not, as well as when- if ever, I empathized with her emotions. Read in 2 days.
