Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Young Cally is an apprentice within the most unusual order of sorcerers in the known world: the only one that forbids its members from using their powers to kill. Despite his lowly status, Cally's chosen by the Master of the Order to join a delegation to see their allies the Lannovians. The meeting will be historic: 60 years ago, the Order's enemies attacked them with a host of demons, forcing the Order to trap the monsters inside their own citadel and seal it shut with impenetrable wards. The trick worked so well the Order hasn't been able to get it back open since.

Summary
This is the end. How could it not be? Fate waits for none.
It has unravelled across the ages, its web woven throughout millennia of chaos and blood. Now, all that was seen shall come to pass, and there is nothing the heroes of Verda can do to stop it. After years of planning and preparation, Alijah Galfrey is finally ready to change the world. He will break the scales of power across the realm, securing his victory and eternal reign. There is no line he will not cross; no sacrifice he will not make to bring peace to the land.
Spread thin, The Rebellion must work fast to muster their forces and meet the enemy head on. Vighon Draqaro and his allies give their lives to stand against the growing darkness, but only the children of fire and flame can determine the fate for all.
A Clash of Fates is the final chapter in the unmissable epic-fantasy series The Echoes Saga.

Satisfying ending
Many epics I have read spent 90 % building the penultimate battle to then drop to an abrupt end leaving me wonder what will happen next to the characters and if there ever will be a sequel. What I like most about A Clash of Fates is Philip honoured each character with just enough page time to set the stage how their lives go on from here without overstretching the entire story. This was the most satisfying end I read in a long while. It is a fabulous epic!

Let Down
After a fun ride this finale fell flat. At the end, you’re left asking yourself, what was the point? After 10,000 years of manipulating fate, the Crow’s grand vision accomplished nothing and wasn’t even mentioned at the end. Inara and others acted irrationally and out of character. I’d recommend you skip this one and imagine your own ending to an otherwise excellent series

Bah
I've only begun listening to this book. After loving all previous books of the series, this book has been too sappy for my tastes. So much so that I'm anxious to move on to another series. Update: I couldn't finish it. A five-minute fight between Asher and an assassin being the only excitement in this sappy, boring book.

Best Series Ever
I honestly wish there were more books, I don’t even care to review for the other readers this review is for Philip. I have never enjoyed a series of books as much as I did this series. It was masterful, captivating, extremely well written, & drew me in until the end. Anyone who understands writing would recognize the seasoned writer for what he is. Also the choice of narrator really makes these books come alive, amazing job. Can’t say enough good things about this series. I am actually sad to write this because it is the end of a great tale. Thank you Philip, I will listen to this series again and again. I look forward to your future works.
