Story
Mark Gatiss ( Sherlock, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones) reads chilling tales by the unsung master of the classic ghost story: E. F. Benson. There's nothing sinister about a London bus. Nothing supernatural could occur on a busy train platform. There's nothing terrifying about a little caterpillar. And a telephone, what could be scary about that? Don't be frightened of the dark corners of your room. Don't be alarmed by a sudden inexplicable chill.

Here then are 15 tales that display the full range of Dickens' Gothic talents. "The Signalman," perhaps the most well-known, is a chilling story about a mysterious figure and its deathly omen. "The Haunted Man and the Ghost's Bargain" shows the consequences for those who make deals with the dead. Listen for more.

Great stories
Really well written set of 4 ghost stories for the festive season . Tony Walker brings each story to life narrating beautifully ,he paints a vivid picture of each tale , very atmospheric you really feel like you are experiencing the situations of each character ,,like walking in their shoes . I particularly enjoyed ,story one ,the sad tale of John who's wife had left him ,and he only had dark suicidal thoughts as he waited for the last train home ,on a cold frozen lonely railway station . The other is story 4 set in wartime Edinburgh ,a lonely doctor helps a ghostly old woman ,from a poor background who's daughter is having a baby ,the kind doctor helps the daughter to give birth ,the story has a moral to it ,because the doctor helped a poor woman have her first child ,he gets positive news that his own daughter is going to have a baby , And he even gets a Christmas present from his secretary ,who gives him a pair of winter gloves .as he forgot to wear his gloves in the cold of the story .,
