Lovely story
This is a real pleasure to hear. The story is desperate for Carrie and it seems to bring you down into the drudge of life, however, as you read you are able to share in how the downtrodden can encourage each other as well as provide support. You see how the lower classes are so different from the higher classes and neither really see how the other lives. And then there are those special people who can appreciate all classes and offer friendship and support across the lines. Carrie is learning life's lessons and decided to roll with the punches rather than give herself over to despair. I look forward to continuing the journey in the series. The narration is very well read and I forget that the narrator is there as I listen. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
