About this listen

Have first-time dad jitters? Here’s how you can gain confidence and feel empowered to be the best partner and dad you can ever be.

Are you expecting your first baby, but you have no idea how to prepare for this life-changing event?

Are you anxious and doubtful about your ability to raise a healthy kid?

Are you worried about how your partner feels during pregnancy, but you’re not sure if you’re doing the right thing to make her feel loved and supported?

While the excitement of your first baby’s arrival is one of the most wonderful things you can ever experience, it comes with doubts and insecurities.

Even if you can't wait for the day you can hold your baby, you might still be having fears that you’ll never be good enough for your child, that they won't bond with you, and that you'll get it all wrong.

And you’re worried that your partner might see you as a failure.

But the fact that you’re thinking about these things means that you care enough for your family—you want to prepare yourself so you can be the best partner and dad you can be.

The closer you are to meeting your little one for the first time, the more you experience an emotional roller-coaster—and you feel like you’re starting to panic a little bit.

That’s where this book comes in handy—while you can’t make everything perfect, preparation can make a huge difference.

That way, you’ll be able to overcome fears and anxieties to gain the confidence to embrace the challenging but joyful experience of being a new parent.

Inside, here’s just a fraction of what you will discover:

  • What you should know about pregnancy and parenthood (hint: you’ll be surprised at the things you’ve never imagined you could do).
  • Nine safe exercises during pregnancy—and what activities to avoid.
  • A list of things to buy before your baby arrives.
  • What to expect and how to prepare for prenatal visits.
  • How to support your partner before, during, and after childbirth to make her feel loved and secure.
  • A guide to feeding your baby based on their age—help them grow up strong and healthy!
  • Five sleep training methods—know which one works for your infant to get the restful sleep you all deserve.
  • How to help your kid develop their mental well-being and manage emotions in a gentle way.
  • What not to say to your partner while recovering from childbirth (or it could leave a stain on your relationship).
  • How often you should bathe your newborn—and how to do it right.
  • Why you should take a childbirth class—and 10 things to consider when choosing a baby preparation course.
  • How to spice up your intimate life after having a baby.

And much more.

Even if the baby’s grandparents are not around to help you out, this guide will empower you to apply the strategies on your own. Always keep in mind that you don’t need to be perfect, as no one is.

With love, patience, and dedication to your partner and your baby, you’ll be able to get through all these challenges and become the best father you can be, all while keeping a strong and happy relationship with your partner.

Remington James' "7 Chapters Every First Time Dad Needs to Read" is an absolute riot, and I mean that in the best way possible! From the get-go, James Hull's narration sets the tone perfectly, making every hilarious anecdote and candid piece of advice feel like a chat with your best buddy. This audiobook is a godsend for soon-to-be dads who might be knee-deep in pregnancy-related anxiety. James doesn't sugarcoat anything; he tells it like it is, and his candor is refreshing. He tackles the highs and lows of pregnancy with a level of humor that had me in stitches. James' witty take on supporting a pregnant partner is pure gold. He dives into subjects that many dads-to-be might not have even considered, and the result is both enlightening and side-splitting. The "dad jokes" and puns scattered throughout the book are worth the listen on their own. But it's not just humor; James delivers solid advice too. His insights on preparing for prenatal visits, supporting your partner through childbirth, and tackling sleep training are invaluable. Plus, his emphasis on maintaining a healthy relationship with your partner post-baby is spot on.

Written in a down-to-earth personable manner, you're certain to learn skills, techniques and ways to calm yourself to the benefit of you, your wife and bundle of joy.
