The great figures of modern philosophy led generations to struggle with the most crucial of questions and break through a new understanding of conscience and existence. Nietzsche's work is radical, sometimes violent, often ironic; it fascinates anyone bold enough to delve into it, exerted a profound influence on modern intellectual history, and covers a wide range of subjects. Immanuel Kant is one of the most important figures of German philosophy, said to have affected a Copernican revolution in philosophy.

In these 124 letters, Seneca expresses, in a wise, steady and calm manner, the philosophy by which he lived - derived essentially from the Stoics. The letters deal with a variety of specific topics - often eminently practical - such as 'On Saving Time', 'On the Terrors of Death', 'On True and False Friendships', 'On Brawn and Brains' and 'On Old Age and Death'.

Sagely advise never sounded so good!!!
Acres of diamonds and fields of wisdom have never been so accessible as this. The tree of knowledge is in full bloom and like a thousand tiny angels dancing on the head of a pin, this brilliantly organized ancient compendium of philosophical insight dazzles and delights the mind.
Wonderfully narrated, this title was everything I expected and more!!! From Aristotle to the Buddha, this collection of sagely advice truly stands as one of the best titles I've listened to "repeatedly" since I downloaded it a few days ago.
I'd highly recommend giving it a listen if you spend a lot time on the road as I do or even perhaps giving it as a gift to a friend.

Different and Flat Narrator for Ch13
Beware: the listed narrator, Katie Haigh, does not read this book completely. I wish she did since I enjoyed her part. Chapter 13 is read by a very dull sounding voice actor, Paul Spera. His voice just pulled me out of this entirely, he reads quotes from Aristotle in this book by the way. The other weird thing about this book is the French speaker who introduces and performs the exit for the book instead of the typical, "This is Audible" voice actor. This I can tolerate, but Paul Spera, what a flat and uninspired read on his part in my opinion. Another gripe I have is that the chapter selections do not have title information loaded and the transitions are not queued to the next chapter transitions. This causes awkward pauses throughout.

This is the most amazing book, I listen to it daily.
I have listened to this book over and over as I feel the need to relax for being upset or just to relax in general . I love how just listing to each and every quote makes me feel more relaxed about what’s going on in my life and around me and my everyday life day . I have even got so many other listing to it as well from playing it in my car or just start playing it as they tent to start arguing. Everyone around me enjoys it as much as I do.....

Lots of duplicate quotes and dead air
While many of the quotes were helpful and enjoyable. There’s really closer to 400 quotes in this book. So often the exact same words from the same author is repeated in ever so slightly different way. I do not count this in different quote, but rather a different translation, nothing more. Be that as it may there were still many enjoyable ones. The narrator‘s were pretty good. It’s very soothing and relaxing. Though there pronunciation of Buddha and other terms specific to Buddhism (brahmin, Māra, Nibbāna, etc.) were not authentic to their original language. But that does not lessen the value of the quotes.
