Summary

Als der ehemalige Strafverteidiger Jan de Fries mitten in der Nacht von seinem Kumpel Uz zu Hilfe gerufen wird, ahnt er schon, dass etwas ganz und gar nicht stimmt in der Krummhörn. In Pilsum angekommen, stürzt er im düsteren Gewölbekeller eines exklusiven Clubs in eine bizarre Szenerie: Ein halbnackter Mann hängt gefesselt kopfüber von der Decke, in seiner Stirn klafft ein hässliches Loch. Der Besitzerin des Clubs springt Jan spontan zu Hilfe, als die Kriminalbeamten Hahn und Mackensen die junge Frau unter Mordverdacht festnehmen wollen.

Seine Ermittlungen treiben Jan in eine Reihe brutaler und zutiefst beunruhigender Ereignisse und er wird auf dramatische Weise mit seinen ureigenen Ängsten konfrontiert. In einer fahlen Vollmondnacht schließlich muss er zu den Greetsieler Zwillingsmühlen...
