One of the most beloved novels of our time, Watership Down is an epic journey, a stirring tale of adventure, courage, and survival.

Fiver could sense danger. Something terrible was going to happen to the warren; he felt sure of it. They had to leave immediately. So begins a long and perilous journey of survival for a small band of rabbits.

As the rabbits skirt danger at every turn, we become acquainted with the band, its humorous characters, and its compelling culture, complete with its own folk history and mythos. Fiver’s vision finally leads them to Watership Down, an upland meadow. But here they face their most difficult challenges of all.

A stirring epic of courage and survival against the odds, Watership Down has become a beloved classic for all ages. Both an exciting adventure story and an involving allegory about freedom, ethics, and human nature, it has delighted generations with its unique and charming world, winning many awards and being adapted to film, television, and theater.

As great an audio book as you could ever ask for. Peter Capaldi does a wonderful job - aptly using his acting abilities to their best. He brings each character to life and his deep voice is very comforting and positively silken to listen to. I'm not sure why you'd ever need a different version :)

Fantastic and comforting

The narrator added so many layers to a childhood classic with the accents for each character - I adored that Kehaar was exactly as I had imagined him as a ten year old child. ❤

Old enough to have read this soon after it's release. Still one of my favorite books. Brilliantly read. Thank you.

Firstly, this is my favourite book. I have read it many times before, but I chose to read it along with Peter Capaldi as he read it aloud. What a great way to do it, I absorbed so much more than I have when I read it before and it allowed me to paint the pictures of the story as I read it.

Peter Capaldi is an absolute first class narrator, I'm not sure how he manages to remember the specific voices he uses for each Rabbit, but does so, and makes it a really easy listen.

An absolute classic of a book.
