About this listen

Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

I dislike when the narrator changes and also when they change the point of view, so when Nesta became the focus I put off listening to it for a while.
with this being the third narrator for the series I thought I would really be annoyed with the change but found I settled in to it very easily.

after listening I was hooked almost immediately and loved it all. some reviews I have read have mentioned that there is too much sex or too graphic sex scenes but I for one loved it with only one or two phrases being a bit cringe. (call a spade a spade)

all in all this was the book I never knew I needed.

I was all set to hate it....

But I do, and I am a little in love with Cassian. This book is quite a bit more sex filled than the others of the series, but still plenty of storyline happening around the romance. Really good narrator evoked all the feelings.

Spoiler:
My one disappointment was the speed of the ending. I feel like way too many huge things were resolved in an hour of listening.

I wish maas went into detail of wearing the trove to heal herself/feyre and the baby. I also think she should have done the same to Elain bc something's up with that shadow singer!! Bryallan's death was a touch anticlimactic and could have been more.

I never thought I'd like Nesta

This is a brilliant follow on book. I really enjoyed it from nesta and cassians perspective. Lots of action and romance. Can’t wait for the next one

Totally worth the wait, hoping the next one won't be as far off as this one was!

Fabulous

I was a bit apprehensive as I didn't really like the 4th novela in the court series, but this one blew me away! Loved the character development of Nesta. Loved the girl power and friendships this book focused on!!

Brilliant!! Maybe the best court book yet!
