Summary
Sometimes love shows up where you least expect it.
Ashley "Ash" Cooper is still reeling after her recent divorce, throwing all her energy into her job in the city. When she's seated next to one of her mother's friends at a family party, falling in love is the last thing on her mind.
After losing her husband many years ago, Gloria Young rebuilt herself as a single parent. Now that her daughters are both at university, she's perfectly content with her quiet life in the village of Murraywood.
An unexpectedly enjoyable evening with a friend's daughter pushes Gloria into exploring a new side of herself.
Will she overcome her fear of what people think and allow herself a new chance at happiness?
And can Ash let go of the past and open herself up to love again?
Contains mature themes.

The defined English accent.
all the negative comments. The majority of readers couldn't string two sentences together. Yet feel it's necessary to write an opinion.

A bit disappointed
I’ll be honest, I found this book a bit of a struggle to finish. I usually love Harpers stories but felt like this one was a bit boring.

Shame about the narrator
The story was good but the audio was spoilt by the narrators awful voice when not doing characters it was quite distracting which was a shame

Eeek
Once you hear Mary (as in Mary & Giles) from Gogglebox as Gloria, the story is basically ruined.

I don’t know anyone who speaks like this narrator!
Not a fan of the narrator’s voice at all, unfortunate as the book/story itself is fabulous and probably my favourite HB book. The Queen barely talks this level of hoity-toity Carmen Rose puts on. Love Harper’s books and these characters feel completely out of step with the voice of the narrator. Gabrielle Baker who has narrated for British characters in Harper’s Books would’ve suited better I feel. Spoiled really by the brilliance and nuance that Angela Dawe & Abby Craden bring to characters, sadly lacking here for the enigmatic Ash & Gloria.

superb
I have many Harper bliss books, it still amazes me how she brings her characters to such realism that you feel all the emotions they go through and care about them, narration is all and Carmen performs beautifully, the story is excellent and handles problems relationships go through with detailed scrutiny and passion.
