Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite. She's always had clear steps outlining her path to success with no time or inclination for romance. Her burgeoning career in politics means everything to her, and she's not willing to compromise it for something as insignificant as love. Fleeting, casual, and discreet worked perfectly fine.

When they meet through a dating app, it's immediately clear that they aren't suited for anything more than friendship. Right?

I really liked this book. Good feelings and people. Great narrator and I'm just waiting for the next book from this writer

Loved this book so much. I fell in love with Charlotte and Sutton and their story. I couldn’t get enough I had to listen to it again straight away and also bought a paperback copy of the book and the follow on Those Who Wait: Forever and a day.

This is an exceptional novel, where the author so clearly cares for the characters and let's them drive the story. The two protagonists are whole as individuals, and their relationship - whilst not easy to forge - is compelling, natural, and positive.
The performance is as well matched to the work as Charlotte and Sutton themselves.

Character-driven falling in love

I've read this book before on ebook and loved it so much I had to get the audiobook. The story is sweet, heartwarming and steamy as hell. However, I wish I hadn't got the audiobook version, as the narration really doesn't do the story justice.

This is the first audiobook by Lori Prince I've listened to and unfortunately I think it will be my last. Not only did her voices for the characters not match what I heard in my head. Charlotte's in perticular, who sounded far to soft spoken in my opinion based on her character description, but none of the characters sounded distinctive enough. To be honest, if I hadn't already read the book and had an ebook copy I would have been confused who was actually talking from time to time.

I highly recommend the story, but unless you have your heart set on the audiobook version, read the ebook or paperback version instead.

Perfect combination - a great book, read by an amazing narrator. This kept coming up as a recommendation, but it took me a while to get to it - I wish I could enjoy it afresh all over again!
