The story was great but the male narrator sounds like a creepy guy that would approach you at a bus stop. He didn't sound at all like Max. Read with terrible intonation and gasps loudly with each intake of breath before every other sentence. So distracting. Have no idea how he got that job.

I cannot with the high pitched baby voice of the FMC. Why why why was the decision made to make her so whiny? The other characters voices work really well, but the choice to make her sound so childish and pathetic have completely spoiled the story. I’ve had to stop listening for fear my ears might start to spontaneously bleed. Terrible. Unlistenable. I understand why this title is so cheap now.

The female narrator is flawless. Maybe the “thank you” could be less sickly but that’s minor. The male narrator, gasping between sentences ruins the entire book. Couldn’t carry on listening when he starts chiming in, which is far into the book. How someone signed off on this is beyond me.

Story is immaculate, I’m invested so I’ll buy the book.

This book seems to score low on its reviews many due to the male narrator- yes he speaks quickly but his tone of voice is in keeping with his character. I loved this story.

Really enjoyed the story line but the voice actor of Max isn’t the best. Was still worth a listen !
