'Cussler is hard to beat' Daily Mail

The ninth gripping thriller in the classic Dirk Pitt series, where the adventurer finds himself in a deadly battle against the darkest forces of international terrorism.

'On behalf of a grateful nation I wish to thank you for this astonishing gift...'

The President of the United States had reason to be grateful. Dirk Pitt had unearthed the greatest storehouse of knowledge in the ancient world: the Alexandria Library.

The trail began in a lonely fjord in Greenland. It ended on the banks of the Rio Grande. In between Pitt had frustrated an assassination, rescued a hijacked liner, survived a deadly gun battle and halted an invasion.

A gripping, action-packed story by a master of the craft.

Great story with well designed and choreographed action sequences. Why these haven’t been made into a successful movie or TV franchise is beyond me!

One of the early classics from Clive Cussler

Written 1988, it's a reflection of its time - the tough hero men want to be and women want to be with. The US is the kindly world power who nonetheless wants to keep all the treasure, but doesn't want to fire on illegal immigrants. The story ticks along and it's good 'suspend your disbelief' nonsense.
Scott Brick is excellent as always.

Good story but it hasn't stood the test of time

I very much enjoyed this book

The plot was complex but fascinating and at the end - all fitted to perfection …

The narrator did a great job 👌

Complex and amazing plot

I have probably read 30-35 cussler books - by the man himself and others since. This is the first one I have struggled to enjoy. Unsure why - they are always complex but maybe this one was exceptionally so. Felt very disjointed. Scott Brick fabulous as ever tho, so not all bad. On the the next Cussler tale 😄

Tough one
