Summary

Aron Ralston, an experienced 27-year-old outdoorsman, was on a days solitary hike through a remote and narrow Utah canyon when he dislodged an 800-pound boulder that crushed his right hand and wrist against the canyon wall. Emerging from the searing pain, Aron found himself completely stuck. No one knew where he was; no one was coming to rescue him. With scant water and food, and a cheap pocketknife his only tool, he eliminated his options one by one. On the fifth night, wracked by delirium and uncontrollable shivers, Aron scratched his epitaph into the rock wall, certain he would not see daylight.

Yet with the new morning came an epiphany: if he could use the rocks vise-like hold to break his arm bones, his blunted pocketknife could serve as a surgeons blade....

Excellent Story

I watched the movie and decided that I would listen to the audio book. I wasn't disappointed. Aron narrates the piece and he places you in the canyon alongside him.

hard at times

was a hard listen at times, very graphic and a good listen, didn't realise it's abridged which is a shame... only found out at the end.

Amazing

Have read the book, and watched the film. Got the audio book when going into hospital to have my leg amputated below knee. Help me realise that some people have it a lot worse than I do. Thank you for sharing your story Aron Ralston, you are one brave man.

Amazing!

Would you consider the audio edition of 127 Hours: Between a Rock and a Hard Place (Movie Tie- In) to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the book nor watch the film but this audio book is amazing, Aron is an inspirational person.

Any additional comments?

A must listen!

Let down by narration

The fascinating story of that man's horrific ordeal and how he survived against all odds was so good they made a movie about it. Which leaves me to wonder why the publisher couldn't splash out on a professional narrator for the book.

Brilliant

Finished this in a day as I couldn't stop listening. I'd scene the film and wanted to know more. I wasn't disappointed as this covers before during and after the event. Great listen
