Summary

When a child is diagnosed with autism, most parents have no idea what this means for them and their child. Like most parents of autistic children, they knew something was different about their child’s development but couldn’t put a finger on it. Autism is not well understood in our society, and most parents don’t know anything about autism before their child is diagnosed. Loneliness and fear of the unknown can wear you down, but information about autism helps alleviate some of it.

For the parent of an autistic child, knowledge truly is power, as it helps one to understand how to approach the child and handle one's own mixed emotions.

Here is a preview of what’s included in this audiobook:

  • How autism is diagnosed
  • Fundamentals every child with autism wish you knew
  • ASD and effects on the parents’ marriage
  • Levels of autism spectrum tests
  • Autism cure
  • Dealing with society
  • Autism spectrum treatment options

Nice book.

A great resource for a parent wading into the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) world. The books touch on basics that we unwillingly omit, and puts you into the perspective of a child with ASD.

Very details.

Autism is a complex syndrome that varies from person to person. No two people have the exact same profile. But, as the author reminds us, every person shares the same dreams, wants, and need for understanding.

Best book!

This is the best book on autism I ever read/listen, and as an autism specialist in the education system, I listen many to them. The chapters are short & easy to read, but filled with much-needed information.

Cover a lot.

This book reminds us as carers of children with autism that they are first and foremost CHILDREN, they have minds, and they have very good reasons for the way they behave.

Easy to understand.

People need to understand how a child with autism really thinks and things they want you to know. Things that they can't just sit down and explain it to you. These people are smart, they need understanding, love, and patients!!

Good ideas.

This book is very informative and easy to follow. I now have a much better understanding of autism. We as a society need to be compassionate towards all people who are different.

Great suggestion.

There are excellent, easy-to-use suggestions for strategy in dealing with problem behaviors. By better understanding how a child thinks and perceives his world, we can be better educators for him.
