Enlightening

I especially liked how we have to look at ourselves and our values. Interesting how one of my core values do not match my partners but making that discovery means we have a foundation to work on...thank you.

great relationship starts with you

It takes two to tango but for us to tango at our best, we need to take care of ourselves. I like that Miles Cohen focuses on the changes you can make to help you become an emotionally healthy person so you can show up better in your relationship. A lot of time when couple fight, we often place the blame on our significant other. This book focuses on what you can do to help you deal with your own negative thought and thinking pattern so you can develop a positive self-expression. Replacing negative thoughts with good one is not easy but I am taking on Cohen's advice of starting a thought diary to help me recognize my thinking style and nurture a better one.

A very helpful book

This book was a great read and I have learnt a lot from it. It has helped me to see that forming good habits in my life are part of the key to changing my negativity. I had come across this before, but the way the author has described it, in context, really makes sense, and appealed to me. Since reading this book I have been able to change my approach towards my children and this pandemic. Thank you so much.

Helping Heal our Relationship

After feeling guilty over the last year, I felt like I didn't deserve my partner. Even though there was nothing obvious that made me feel that way, those thoughts and feelings kept coming over me and making it difficult to emotionally engage with her. I found this book, and it has started to not only help me feel like I deserve her again, but it is also helping our relationship overall. The author knows the subject very well, and breaks down how to think about different aspects of your relationship, and how to heal areas that have been neglected.

The narrator is easy to listen to and speaks clearly. For anyone looking to breath new life into their relationship and reforge old bonds, I would definitely give this title a look!

So grateful I made the purchase!

After having gone through a number of rollercoaster relationships I really needed to get to the root of the issue. It wasn't until I listened to and implemented the advise, tips, and tricks from this book that I was able to overcome some really unhealthy habits I constantly did. The most valuable thing I learned in this book is recognizing what those unhealthy habits were and altering it so that it was an asset instead of a liability in a relationship. It was way easier to shift negative thoughts into positive emotion than I thought it would be. It took me about a week of practice and I'm at the best place I've been and ready for a new relationship. I feel empowered and confident all because of this audiobook.

I highly recommend for all who are looking to strengthen any relationship in their life! Easily 5 stars!

Helpful Suggestions

I'm still trying to get rid of negative feelings and boost my relationship. This book focuses on how to cope with your own negative thought and thinking habits so that you can develop positive self-expression for coping with negativity. We all know that negative behavior has a negative effect. It's not easy to substitute negative thoughts with constructive ones, but I'm trying to figure out my thinking style by writing it in the journal to cultivate a better one. I especially enjoyed the chapter on "Identify, Evaluate, Replace."

Excellent Book to Help Get You Through the Pandemic!

We all experience limiting beliefs and negative thoughts, which lead to having negative relationships both with yourself as well as others. This audiobook does an excellent job of helping you identify and resolve these issues through it’s 11 habits. Some if these habits include: reflecting on what’s making you emotional, identifying what an emotionally healthy person looks like, healthy habits for beginners, positive self-reflection, understanding the differences between essentialism, stoicism and minimalism, practicing mindfulness as well as how to work with your romantic partner on all of the above. The chapter review points were excellent as well. Overall, a very good book worth having a listen to!

Helpful and relatable

I’ve been studying habits, emotions, and positive psychology for a while now, and this was one of the easiest books to read/listen to Ive found on the topic.

The relatability of the author to anyone experiencing the same symptoms/problems makes it easy to believe in the process to change.

I have this one noted in my library for if I fall back into a slump, but can confidently say it inspired me to stay on the path I’m currently on 🙏

Great guide to building relationships

This one focuses on building healthy relationships. And not just the romantic kind — any type, for that matter. Its focus is on working on yourself first, so you can then use the momentum of your own progress to positively affect the lives of others.

It’s full of wise words and tips on becoming a more emotionally healthy person. Many of those tips fall under the subject of habit formation and creation. Overall, it’s a short and helpful listen that I recommend to just about anyone.

My wife and I loved it

My wife and I decided that we need some change in our relationship. Decided to listen to this book while doing some meditation. The results were terrific. I could not ask for a better way to fight off bad influences in our lives. After deciding that we needed to change because of the suggestions here, we are now focusing more on better ways to separate our work and toxic friendships from our family
