Summary

Published in association with Leeds United to coincide with the club's centenary celebrations.

100 Years of Leeds United tells the story of a one-club city and its unique relationship with its football team. Since its foundation in 1919, Leeds United Football Club has seen more ups and downs than most, rising to global fame through an inimitable and uncompromising style in the 70s, clinching the last Division One title prior to the Premier League's inauguration in 1992, before a spectacular fall from grace at the start of the 21st century.

United remains one of the best supported - and most divisive - clubs in football, with supporters’ clubs dotted across the globe.

In 100 Years of Leeds United, Chapman delves deep into the archives to discover the lesser-known episodes, providing fresh context to the folkloric tales that have shaped the club we know today, painting the definitive picture of the West Yorkshire giants.

An epic adventure, roll on the next installment!

I loved listening to this, not just because I love (and hate) Leeds United but because it conveys exactly why, after moving to the city of Leeds as young man, I fell in love with the City, the people of Leeds and it's football club. I was fascinated by the story, morbidly so for some of the recurring themes, and shed a tear or two as I began to recognize names and stories of matches I'd been too and all the glorious hope and all the crushing heartaches. The narrator was excellent too by the way. Thank you Daniel Chapman and thank you for making it Audible.

The comprehensive history of Leeds United

This is an important piece of work, chronicling the controversy, drama, beauty and intrigue that is Leeds United. It’s a book not just for Leeds fans but for a much wider audience of football fans, to understand a revered, hated, feared football club that can be loved and loathed but never ignored.

Wonderful laying out of the history well told

Chapman has nailed expanding and explaining a lot of what it is to be Leeds. The ups and downs and the founding of where it all comes from. Love this.

If you are a Leeds fan this is a fascinating look into the history of the club you love. I have been a fan all my life (nearly 40 years) and I had little appreciation for what happened before The glory years of Don Revie our the period after him up until I was born. Finding out was thrilling & left me feeling a renewed nostalgia and pride for my club
