Amazing titles. Outstanding Authors. Great price!

I discovered this Mega-Collection by accident as I was trying to locate a particular title that was no longer available on Audible (don't ask) but *was* still available on Audible under two different/identical titles by the same narrator under her proper name (seriously, don't ask) but on further research I learned said title was *also* available as part of this Mega-Collection for a whopping Sixty-Six Cents. Thus I could purchase the title I was actually looking for along with LOT of other interesting ones for the grand total of Sixty-Six Cents. A fantastic deal!

Sampling:
As this Mega-Collection is a ten different titles bundled together, clicking on "Audible Sample" will probably get you a single sample from just one of the ten narrated titles, not all of them. My guess is that clicking on "Audible Sample" for this particular title will get you part of the narration of "Dracula" narrated by (I think) Kara Shallenberg. As for the other nine titles, for the sake of trivia I tried to match title to narrator.. ..if I guessed correctly(?), you could possibly listen to some samples on Audible and see if you like that particular style of narration - beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

I tried to give them each title a quick listen, mainly to see which of the ten titles actually lists the narrator (two?). How are these titles and how do they sound? Liking a narrator is a matter of personal preference, and to my Weird Ears they all seemed pretty good or at least ok. The only exception was "A Halloween Wraith" as the narrator's "burr" made it seem like "Star Trek's" Mr. Scott was speed dictating his way through the story, but for $0.66 I can simply SKIP past that one. :)

10 Titles-in-One:
Yes, they are all lumped together as a single purchase ($0.66!!), but it is not a random confusing mix as some of the reviews for "Die 2" might imply. The titles are presented in the order listed on the web site, but for what it is worth, below is a List o' Titles and their chapter numbers so far as what exists in January 2019. I tried to match narrators to titles where I could, but was not all that successful as I think some of the names listed might be aliases used by multiple narrators. Note: I used the Audible application via my FireTV to jump about from chapter to chapter as it was faster than ITunes on my PC, but the chapter numbers matched on both.

Chapters Title
--------------------------
01-27 Dracula (Kara Shallenberg)
28-30 The Dunwich Horror (Mark Nelson)
31-33 The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Sean Murphy?)
34-62 Frankenstein (Cori Samuel)
63-67 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Brian Kelly)
68 A Halloween Wraith
69-93 The Turn of the Screw
94 The Raven
95-110 Carmilla (Elizabeth Klett)
111-138 The Phantom of the Opera

Basic Trivia:
This looks to be the second (?) Mega-Collection available in the "10 Masterpieces...before you die" category. The other is "10 Masterpieces You Have to Listen Before You Die 2". No idea why it is "2" as neither Amazon nor Audible has a "1" - I know enough not to ask. I checked out some of the reviews for "Die 2" on Audible and Amazon, and it's about what you would expect - some positive and some negative, although who complains about $0.66?! Some of the negative reviews dealt with the issue of all these titles being Lumped Together, and for that I figured I could at least try to shine a little light on the chapters/titles as I am the first one here in ReviewLand.

Download Trivia:
Looks like it can be downloaded (in Jan 2019) as either a single 2.55GB file, or four individual files of 1.04GB, 675MB, 349MB, and 526MB. If you download the Four-Part-Download, some titles may be split between files. Ex: "Frankenstein" starts at the end of File #1 (1.04GB) and continues at the beginning of File #2 (675MB). I gather they COULD have resized the files so that File #1 was a little smaller and *all* of "Frankenstein" could have instead been contained in File #2. Perhaps they might redo these files at some point in the future, but for $0.66 I am not thinking this would high on the Priority List.

Odd Trivia:
The Opening and Closing "Audible Bumpers" are in German, but the titles themselves are in English.

A great collection

The only complaint that I have is the narrator of the phantom of the opera pronounced viscount phonetically instead of vie-count. It wouldn't have been a big deal but the word is in the story about 1000 times. How does that get passed the editorial process?

Low rate is for the lack of chapter labels only

The only reason I gave this score is because the chapters aren't labeled and you have to keep skipping each chapter to find the story you want if you don't listen to the full 47 hours from beginning to end. So far the performances and story are great.
