Summary

Sir Lenny Henry is one of the country's best-loved comedians with a career spanning over forty years. Here he writes about his youth for the first time.

You might think you know Lenny Henry. Think again.

In 1975, a gangly black sixteen-year-old apprentice factory worker from Dudley appeared on our TV screens for the first time. He had no idea he would go on to become a national treasure. Here at last, Sir Lenny Henry tells the revealing and very funny story of his rise to fame. Surviving a tough family upbringing, along with the trauma of finding out the truth about his father at a young age, Lenny beat the odds. With a riotous warmth and his trademark energy, in Who Am I, Again? he tells the heart-breakingly honest and inspirational story of his youth.

Pretty good, but stops a bit abruptly.

I definitely thought that this was a good book. Lenny even gives us a nostalgic `oooooooooooookeeeeeeeeeeeeeey` which is worth the price of the book alone. For me though, it did finish a bit early, and I was left wondering, what about the Lenny Henry Show? What about Dawn French? I got the impression that he cut if off early to leave room for a Who am I, again? part two, perhaps entitled Who am I again, again? I still can`t remember. Overall, very good, nice one Len.

Who Am I?

I decided to buy this book after listening to Louis Theroux interview him.
He’s so honest and comes across as a really nice man who has a lot of interesting stories to tell. Loved it!

Wow, the Voice of My youth Talking about His Youth

This book is Funni as you would hope however it has many truisms for Life,

Read brilliantly and it keeps you hooked,,
a Great listen with many Happi, Funni, and also Sad and painful memories, Told to you
sometimes it really gets difficult to listen to as he tell the truth as it was in the 80s,, his work and life allowed me to understand his humor better,

A great book and loved listening to Lenny ,, He has a sound in his voice that I like,, it reminds me of the 80s and the good times I had watching this up and coming Comedian ,,,

Interesting life story told in an entertaining way.

I really enjoyed this since I am the same age as Lenny and grew up with similar cultural references. It is a very honest and humorous account of his early career.

Full of gags

Great fun full of Lenny Henry’s gags, Impressions and his of course life story there was a couple of sad times as is with most people’s lives but all topped off with his wonderful accents and sense of humour.
