I guess the book title says it all : Optimised Practices for Waking, Working, Learning, Eating, Training, Playing, Sleeping and Sex
However I believed that it is not only the content but also the way it has been structured that makes this book really useful.

For me this book has not been a step-by-step guide on how to improve my life. Instead I have incorporated new practices into my daily routines that are definitely making a difference.....!! Recommended.

After countless other lawsuits it seemed that Gawker had finally run out of luck. But luck had nothing to do with it. Peter Thiel, PayPal founder and billionaire investor, had masterminded the whole thing.

Una lastima que la edicion sea de mala calidad. Hay muchos errores de narración en el audio que no han sido eliminados.

On 14th June, 2007, the King of Sweden disappears. In 1994 South Africa dismantles six missiles developed during its brief nuclear weapons programme. In 1961 Nombeko Mayeki is born in a Soweto shack. Seemingly destined for a life nasty, brutish and short, her path takes an entirely unpredictable turn. Because really this story is all about the seventh South African missile - the one that was never supposed to have existed. The one that Nombeko knows far too much about.

Michael Lewis, the Master of the Big Story, is back with Flash Boys. If you thought Wall Street was about alpha males standing in trading pits hollering at each other, think again. That world is dead. Now, the world's money is traded by computer code, inside black boxes in heavily guarded buildings. Even the experts entrusted with your cash don't know what's happening to it. And the very few who do aren't about to tell - because they're making a killing.

....and Wall Street too. An amazing financial thriller that takes the listener through the until now unknown (at least to me) world of high frequency trading. The revelations are so shocking that in parts it is difficult to believe that this is a non-fiction book. Written in a classic Lewis' style the book is entertaining, funny, informative and has a great ending.

What made the experience of listening to Bounce the most enjoyable?

The references to Simon's personal experiences and links to sports. I enjoyed the pace of the narration and the voice of James Clamp.

What other book might you compare Bounce to, and why?

There were many concepts borrowed from Blink and Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. The first chapter was full of references to some of these books which made the book predictable and repetitive in part.

Have you listened to any of James Clamp’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was inspiring and motivating in parts.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the book although found it full of non original research and references to other books. If this is this is your first book in the subject then you will surely find it useful and enjoyable.

Good book - But same old concept in new package

Overall
3 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 27-03-12

I must say that I did get some good ideas from this book. I do find myself imagining a chimp taking over when things are not going the right way and it helps me to regain rational control.

The book is very good if you are new to the concepts or if it is the first book in the area that you have read. Otherwise it is kind of the same you will find in other self development books but package in a different way.

The concept of the chimp, the human and the computer is good but then the additional categorisation using planets, sun, moons, etc is very confusing and somehow out of sync with the main concepts. This is especially confusing for the audio version for which one does not have additional visual material to support these structures.

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could!
