In her number one NYT best sellers, Brené Brown taught us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong and brave the wilderness. Now, based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers and culture shifters, she’s showing us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead. Leadership is not about titles, status and power over people. Leaders are people who hold themselves accountable for recognising the potential in people and ideas and developing that potential. This is a book for everyone who is ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference and lead.

A lot of lessons and insights. I’m going to buy the book as it will be one I pick up again and again.

The content of the book is really great and it was interesting to understand how our emotions and feelings have developed and changed over time. What brought down my score was Ruby Wax’s performance. I’m usually a fan of Ruby but the conversations she had when she was speaking with the Monk and Neuroscientist really grated on me. She cut them off short when they were saying relevant things and it was scripted not funny. I persevered and did enjoy the lessons but don’t think I’ll listen to an audio book by Ruby again. Maybe opt for the book.

So, when it comes to relationships, why can't these same women figure out what makes men commit? According to Steve, it's because they're asking other women for advice when they should be going directly to the source.

Never have I had to stop an audio book out of disgust but I listened to this as far as I could. I'm an open minded person and like to listen to different points of view but had to stop the audio when Steve talks about how he loves his wife so much that she can't take part in adventure sports anymore. How controlling and emotionally abusing is that.

Nope not for me. I would rather be single than date a guy like that.

Wow. I hadn't heard of Shonda Rhimes until someone recommended this audio book! Now I am a big fan!

You can tell Shonda is a writer and from the beginning the way she weaves her words and speaks them had me hungry for more.

A story of a life changing decision and a year long challenge which has totally transformed her life. She said yes!

I always thought I was a 'yes' woman. But I realised I was saying yes to the things that I liked doing so I would always be seen to doing things.

Things that scare me. Well that's a different story. Until now. Totally inspired. I now declare my year of yes started.

What an inspirational woman.
