I wondered how this book might measure up against a similar and previously much enjoyed Ken Follet novel.... It certainly did! The characters were skillfully portrayed and delivered, the story held my avid intetest all the way and the historical background fascinated me. What agreat companion through many hours of otherwise dry and time consuming tasks.... So sorry it had to end! Well done all. (I would love to have a character list at the start or on the page to refer to at times)

This was my third choice from a gift subscription- the former two being non Fiction ' heavies ' ......I decided to be indulgent and try a novel. Now I cant wait for the second part! I enjoy stories set in a historical background, well researched, with believable characters and with a twisting, gripping plot. This one ticked all the boxes: ironing, cleaning and other chores were never so enjoyable!! Light but not superficial, dramatic but not improbable, earthy but not not offensive......well done !

The theme of this four-day retreat: "It's Always Now" The Now is inseparable from who you are at the deepest level. It is the prerequisite of Being. As you listen to the words on this tape, you participate in the retreat. To "retreat" means to step back - not only from the outer world, but also from the world in your head, the thinking mind. Allow the sound of the words to take you beyond words and beyond sound to the stillness within.

I appreciate this recording so much....it is full of rich moments of insight and wisdom...humour, logic and Tolle's own unique brand.of teaching that goes right to the heart and head!
It is , as are all his teachings, a caralyst for personal and universal change and I shall be re visiting it often to absorb, apply and evaluate my personal journey.
I shall listen again to note particularly relevant, challenging or favourite moments....but I must.say that the person with that amazing laugh is as much another lesson in accepting what IS as a delight to hear!
Very much enjoyed and valued my Mothers ' Day Audible gift!!
