i had high hopes for the book, but the translation seems to have gone for a very very strong American dialect which I found quite off-putting. The Performance (but primarily editing) of the stories were so bland and underenergised that I gave up two stories in.

I have been meaning to read The Sherlock Holmes books for some years but when I discovered the unabridged complete work read by Stephen Fry I knew I'd found the right thing. Fry gives a passion and clarity to the work which makes it sing.

an interesting listen, certainly illustrative of many key points from previous generations. Sadly the reading becomes quite monotonous and I found myself frequently skipping back to re-listen to many sections. Writers may know their subject, but that doesn't mean they can deliver it out loud...

Always been a fan of Pratchett, and I was happy to see how well he and Gaiman's writing meshed.

great performance by Martin Jarvis - his Crowley sounds just like Tennant, funnily enough.

this is an absolutely fascinating listen from start to finish. You can tell that Stephen Fry is reading his own writing from the very first chapter, and that he's invested in the tales

the content of this book is disturbing and compelling. Wallace-Wells paints a worrying picture of the current generation on Earth. His reading is quite bland however, and he sometimes lacks the vocal confidence to really clarify his points.

unbearably preachy, negative, and extremely dull to even attempt to listen to. perhaps it's just me but when a book designed to help you begins by telling you how life is an unbearable burden I find listening any further extremely difficult.
