I have really enjoyed Peter Mays island books however this one not so much. The story seemed over contrived with some characters that just did not gel. Also did not enjoy the dual voice format. Peter Forbes is the voice of PeterMays work for me and he does it so well. Don't think the extra voice added to the experience.

at first I imagined the story was going to be a type of abandoned wife saga and not really the sort of one I generally enjoyed. however it developed into a chilling disturbing mystery. I think I enjoyed it but even now at the end I'm not sure. very cleverly written and well performed I'm not sure it's one I would return to. the unravelling of human nature to a dark place and it's consequences is not something to dwell on.

Passion, deception, an unexplained death and a detective with quite a lot to hide lie at the heart of Anthony Horowitz's brilliant new murder mystery, the second in the best-selling series starring Private Investigator Daniel Hawthorne. William Pryce is an elegant, smooth-tongued lawyer who has made a fortune out of celebrity divorces - and a lot of enemies in the process. Unmarried himself, he lives in a handsome bachelor pad on the edge of Hampstead Heath. Or, rather, he used to....

Very much enjoyed every aspect of this involved thriller; the complex personal lives of all the characters and the intricate plot woven around the high points of London's cultural life and the low points of Britain's class riven society. Looking forward to number 5. Hopefully Robert Glenister will narrate that one too.
