Having loved volume 1 I really hoped for something magical in volume 2. Disappointing stories and not even the good performances could make me enjoy it. I’m surprised at how little they touched me like the first did. Such a shame.

A beautifully told story that marks history and life and love. I was completely veiled by the prose and the narration was captivating. I absolutely recommend this book to those who like a gentle bimble through ti!e, gorgeous descriptions of landscapes and venues with enough grit to make you gasp at some points. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The voice of the narrator was so bad I couldn’t listen to it. Lifeless voice with a slight whine to it - irritating in the extreme. Unable to rate the story as didn’t get past the first 5 minutes. Sorry Rick!

I absolutely adored the book when i first read it in hardback shortly after it was published. Althalus is a rogue who you can’t help but root for as he goes about his ‘business’ of the transference of property. The amazing insights into the human condition are astounding and compelling. The narration provided by Dennis Holland is perfect for the the book and I recognised the characters and their voices flowing from his mouth as if he took those voices from my own head. So believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio production and the book remains one of the best ever. David and Leigh Eddings write a awesome tale!

Didn’t know I’d love it like I did!

Not a subject matter (Victorian London & crime thriller) I thought I’d like but bought this as I had a credit on my subscription that needed spending! What a fantastic choice I made. William Gaminara has a chameleon voice and brings all the characters to life. Vampire groom for Queen Victoria, Jack the Ripper, high society wondering if to ‘change’ and no longer be one of the ‘warm’ at 19 (as they’re getting old you see) Van Hielsing , many folklore and real life characters of the time and debauchery to make a pro blush (smatterings, not grotesquely so, but when told in the language of Victorian English, you can feel the smut, without need for graphics - cleverclever writing!) - this book is awesome. Bye bye television: I found me a new drama to indulge in. Download and revel in the tale.
