first tip. play the book at 1.3x speed or more otherwise the narrator will drive you mad.
the prequel is a stand alone so far and pretty good.
if you fancy an alternative zombie like alien invasion this book will suit.

Once you get over the rather nasal presentation the story starts quite well, its written in a rather youthful fashion so fans of all the vampire / twilight teen angst stuff will love this.

The writing swings from really good to OK frequently.
The constant mixing of real world artifacts with fantasy locations is not my cup of tea.

Gona stick with it for a while longer though when I start to catch my self looking for the fast forward button maybe its time to go get another book.

Not bad just not great!

absolutely loved it. characterisation is just fantastic. So refreshing to hear some Scottish and other British accents. as the author states based loosely on real events with a huge chunk of imagination and story telling!
