I did enjoy this one, however I'm used to Peter James twisting the characters personal lives in with the events. One this occasion it was more focussed around the crimes and a good read...

However you are keeping me in suspense to find out about their home lives.

I eagerly await the next one Peter.

What would have made The Truth better?

The Truth was too long and lacked the normal pace, twists and turns that are usually present in Peter James books

What was most disappointing about Peter James’s story?

I never felt that the story got going. It was padded out and too slow.

There were no points when I gasped out loud... Until the final chapter. I nearly didn't listen to this, however glad I did.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The american female voice wasn't great, however didn't detract.

[Contains explicit content]. University student Anna Winslow has gone missing. The circumstances of her disappearance are far from ordinary, a fact that only fellow student Melissa Lopez appears to appreciate. Motivated by an unexplained and disturbing voicemail message from Anna on the night of her disappearance, Melissa's curiosity quickly turns into a deeper investigation, an obsession even, which she chronicles as a regular podcast - the very recordings that you are about to listen to.

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can only describe this as Audibles equivalent to the Blair Witch Project.

Its rather choppy and not your regular read.

I did try this one, but didn't finish it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Anthony Del Col again?

No

How did the narrator detract from the book?

It was an unusual read and not the normal high quality.

This was absolutely the intention by the author, however it cut from in the present to playing voicemails so it did move from one situation to another.

Not my style, but others may enjoy.

Alice Rose is a foundling, discovered on the Yorkshire moors above Haworth as a baby. Adopted but then later rejected again by a horrid stepmother, Alice struggles to find a place where she belongs. Only baking - the scent of cinnamon and citrus and the feel of butter and flour between her fingers - brings a comforting sense of home. So it seems natural that when she finally decides to return to Haworth, Alice turns to baking again, taking over a run-down little teashop and working to set up an afternoon tea emporium.

I love Martina Cole books, but this one isn't the usual standard.

This one just didn't have the usual gripping elements of the book.

It felt as though the parts were explained rather than "dropped" in front of the reader (listener).

It's a shame, I guessed the ending and was waiting for it to happen, but the book seemed uneventful and very very long and this is such a shame.

Maybe it's the way I which the book has been adapted for audible, the narrator as always was good, just something didn't work for me.

I'll of course await Martinas next book, I'm still a loyal fan and hope the next one is back to her old style.

From the Sunday Times top ten best-selling author of The Psychopath Test, a captivating and brilliant exploration of one of our world's most underappreciated forces: shame. "It's about the terror, isn't it?" "The terror of what?" I said. "The terror of being found out." For the past three years, Jon Ronson has travelled the world, meeting recipients of high-profile public shamings. The shamed are people like us - people who, say, made jokes on social media that came out badly or made mistakes at work.
