In the comfortable suburb where she lives, Heloise is just a mom, the youngish widow with a forgettable job who somehow never misses her son's soccer games or school plays. But in discrete hotel rooms throughout the area, she's the woman of your dreams - if you can afford her hourly fee. For more than a decade, Heloise has believed her unorthodox life to be a safe one. But now this secret life is under siege. And nearby another so-called 'suburban madam' has been found dead in her car, an apparent suicide...

I really enjoyed the subject or this novel and was completely absorbed from chapter 2. I was just slightly disappointed by the ending...it was a little predictable. Still, a great listen.

Fantastic narrator and a very interesting story which I was riveted by! The way the story unfolds slowly really sucks the listener in and the accents were spot on.

Dead simple. It was a harmless stag-night prank. But a few hours later, the groom is left buried in a coffin and the four friends who know where he is are dead.

I wanted car journeys to go on longer and couldn't wait to leave for work as I loved this so much...I was so excited to find out what happened, it was gripping all the way to the end.

When London editor Georgia Abbott comes to Sydney to work on Glow, a glossy woman's magazine, she has high hopes for a bright new start. Leaving behind a broken heart (her own) and a philandering ex-fiance, she's looking forward to immersing herself in the Tim Tam-eating sisterhood of woman's mags. Not to mention being whisked off into the dusty Australian sunset by a suntanned, Akubra-hatted fantasy man.

Pants on Fire is an enjoyable enough book but what really lets it's down is the narrator who emphasises all the wrong words therefore making sentences very strange!

What a disppointing end to a great book. It just suddenly stops, I was so suprised as in 'The Various Haunts of Men' you find out 'who-dunnit', in this book you don't! Having said that, Susan Hill really brings the characters alive. grrr..I really wanted to find out what happened though....
