One of the best books I've read

one of the best books I've read, up there with the book thief, my favourite ever book. This book is real life, tragedy and empathy. I feel it should have won the Booker prize, and yes I have read the sell out.

I have enjoyed all of Marina Lewycka's books and this does not fail to entertain, with her usual witty style. The characters are real and you feel you are part of the story.
The narrator was good and the characters each had a distinctive voice.
However the story is not as strong as her previous books and the ending feels a little cut short.
overall a must read for Marina Lewycka fans.

I have been a fan of Timothy Walker for many years and I would dare to say Timothy knows me and I have been to many lectures of Timothy in the UK. I would travel long distances to listen to Timothy's lecture so buying his book was easy. But why, why? have they chosen an American narrator? This narrator was confusing, stomata in English is fine, but distracting in an American accent and these differences go on and on. Why did they choose this narrator?
I have a botany degree and had to stop and ask what is the narrator saying? can not see why Timothy did not narrate the book.
However this is still essential reading for year one BSc students. Highly recommended.

I have long been a Liverpool fan and although Stevie came along after my dream years his book was a must read. I found the style a little jumpy at the start but grew to like the style. It was like an informal chat in a pub, a little like chatting with mates rather than reading a book. I trusted what I read and felt it was a very honest account.

One of my best books of the year.

I am a Gone Girl, Girl on a train fan and this book came close to these books. I was drawn by a review on Audible and he said gripping, it certainly is a book which is hard to put down, I kept wanting to read more and more. One of my top three books to read.

A highly researched book that covers facts in great detail. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I have a personal passion for Portugal and this book has helped to fill in a number of missing pieces.

This was the first Lee Child book I have read. Brilliant and I cant wait to download more of his books. This story is gripping from the start, brilliant story, believable story line and very detailed, so you feel like you know the characters. I highly recommend this book.

Okay I was expecting a little too much for this book, and the book delivers anther installment of the millennium series, but this writer is no Stieg Larsson. I feel the book lacked a credible plot and in places felt there was no need to remind us of previous books. However it is a well written book with believable characters that continues effortlessly in the millennium series. Not enough of Libeth Salander.
